Check out concept art from George Miller's cancelled Justice League movie

06.01.2015

While we will never get to see George Miller's version of JUSTICE LEAGUE, a developing documentary wants us to see what could have been. The producers behind MILLER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL, the story of the superhero mega-movie that never was, have been sharing some concept art from the aborted film showcasing Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter.

The Facebook page for the film has been gathering more steam since the release of these images which you can see below courtesy of their Twitter page.

George Miller's JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL had a complete cast in place that included Batman (Armie Hammer), Superman (D.J. Cotrona), Wonder Woman (Megan Gale), the Flash (Adam Brody), Aquaman (Santiago Cabrera), Green Lantern (Common), and Martian Manhunter (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD's Hugh Keays-Byrne). It was all set to film in 2007 as a fully motion captured project but fell apart due to the Writer's Guild strike and the developing BATMAN BEGINS project. The rest is history.

Much like Tim Burton's failed Superman movie, JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL remains one of the most intriguing films that never happened. What would the cinematic superhero universes have looked like if DC had gotten a jump on Marvel and THE AVENGERS? We may never know, but we can still look forward to what comes next.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE opens March 25, 2016 with JUSTICE LEAGUE PART ONE debuting on November 17, 2017.

Real kick in the balls to Aquaman's crab and lobster friends that he's wearing the exoskeletons of their relatives.

Crabs and Lobsters have balls, right?

I don't know that the mo-cap thing is completely true. In an old interview, Adam Brody told Kevin Smith he had at least one costume fitting for the film. Not sure why a costume would be needed if it was just going to be animated.

These images look pretty cool, but I'll never forget Armie Hammer telling the media about all the gun training he was doing to prepare for playing Batman. That seemed like a bad sign to me.

I would take a gun toting Batman over that shit-stain of a Joker we are now getting.

I've lots of respect for Miller but the fact he wanted to use motion capture likely would've caused it to fail.
Still I do hope that maybe there were some animation tests that may surface.

I want to see the film he was going to make. Maybe they could make it into at least an animated film. It would deserve a higher quality of animation than the usual DC toons. Miller could use cgi like he did with the penguins.
At least they must get this documentary made.

And based off the badassery of Mad Max, Miller would be my top pick for the DC's new Green Lantern film.

So Aquaman's body with Thor's head??

Kind of cool to see the designs of what could have been. Hopefully we get to see what Miller's Green Lantern, and Flash designs looked like.
