Check out the awesome Mondo Dark Knight Rises poster and a new clip from the film

Jul. 12, 2012by:

Mondo posters are the creme de la creme of film art these days. Every single one has been a coveted print that perfectly illustrates why posters are not just advertising, but art.

This new poster for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES captures the film we have all seen teased over the last year to the core essence of a single man and his quest to defend his city. I love it. This exclusive Comic Con poster has been on sale today at the Mondo booth and sells for $50. It is limited to 375 prints so they may not have many left.

Check out THE DARK KNIGHT RISES poster by Jock.

Also today we have a new clip from the movie. We have seen moments from this clip in the TV spots. It features Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) discussing The Bat. It also gives us some more insight as to what Mr. Fox has been doing at Wayne Enterprises in the eight long years since we last saw him.

I am dying to know exactly why Bruce Wayne is using a cane. I assume this scene takes place before he encounters Bane, but I could be wrong.

Lastly, I have a funny version of one of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES various teaser spots. Jimmy Fallon impersonates each speaking role as if he were Pee-Wee Herman. Priceless.

It is hard to believe we have just over a week until July 20th when THE DARK KNIGHT RISES makes us all cream in our jeans.

Only 8 more days!!! Anyways theres two things that bugging me about the TDKR time line, so we're to believe that after TDK batman retired and hasnt been seen for eight years? Which means from Batman Begains to TDk Bruce was only Batman over maybe little over a year before he retired? Since we havnt seen the movie maybe Bruce was still "active" behind the scenes type thing but to be Batman for year or so and retire is kinda killing the whole mythos of Batman. This would also mean that joker

This would also mean that joker never escaped prision and just sits there rotting away. The second thing is since TDKR is doing the whole bruce being retired and being forced to come back means we will most likely never see a The Dak Knight Returns live action film which kinda sucks.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. It seems to me that the implication that Batman retired right after the conclusion to TDK is weak at best. First off, it is said by John Blake that Gotham streets are now cleaned up, which implies that Batman played some roll in that as at the end of TDK Gotham was worse off that it had been before batman even started his mission. Plus it seems very illogical that batman would retired just because he is wanted by police. Batman has ALWAYS been

Plus it seems very illogical that batman would retired just because he is wanted by police. Batman has ALWAYS been wanted by the police and know that his ally is head of the Gotham police department is seems highly unlikely that he would go into hiding just because he is being pursued by authorities. He is a vigilante, he will always be hunted by police. I think the more plausible explanation is that at some point in those eight years, Bruce is severely injured as is unable to perform the duties of The Batman, hence the cane he is using that for some reason no one seems to be mentioning...? Plus in one quick clip, Bruce seems to be almost pleading with Lucius Fox to " get him back in the game". In this clip Bruce seems almost frail and weak. I think the retirement is a forced one and a lot fo the movie is going to be about Bruce having to overcome his injury in order to be Batman one final time. But it just seems highly unlikely to me that he just retired right after TDK. It's a lazy plot device, and I think we can all agree that Nolan is anything but lazy when it come to storytelling. There has to be a much bigger story that takes place within those eight years. All will be revealed soon my friends. In Nolan We Trust

Eh, not a big fan of the poster. I don't mind minimalism, but something about it bothers me. I'd have liked to see a much more gothic, maybe even comic oriented poster.

My 2 cents...

I love mondo's work. I love batman. Not too crazy about that poster.
