Check out the first image of Ghost Rider from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

It was announced at this year's San Diego Comic Con that Ghost Rider would finally be re-introduced into the Marvel canon via ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. That may seem like a bit of a curve ball, but the series is moving into a later time slot (10pm) that will undoubtedly promise a bit of a darker show. If you're curious as to what the Spirit of Vengeance will look like, portrayed by Gabriel Luna this time around, check it out below!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Ghost Rider

It appears as if Ghost Rider has borrowed Blade's '69 Dodge Charger, but aside from that, the character's exactly what you'd expect. Bonus points for a jacket that immediately leads one's eyes down to his crotch. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is not a show I've dedicated much time to so I'm curious to hear if this new season will garner more excitement than the previous ones. I know it has its audience, but it's no Daredevil. I guess we'll see if Ghost Rider can change that!

Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will premiere September 20th on ABC.

I just don't get this. Marvel is KILLING it with their dark Netflix shows. Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider is PRIME material for that treatment. Hell, even Danny Ketch Ghost Rider could hold his own series, or at the very least be a part of a Nightstalkers series or something. Still Marvel decides to stick to recent material yet again AND put him on the too tame for the character Agents of Shield. What a colossal mistake.

Just Blaze!!!!!

Johnny Blaze would have been nice. He's Ghost RIDER! Not Ghost DRIVER! and I agree with @The_Soloist Norman Reedus would be great as Johnny!

The car-driving latino-styled Ghost Rider is where the character's been at in comics for quite some time - I mean personally I'd rather it was the more traditional motorbike look, but I can appreciate why Marvel would want to tie things in with their current comcibooks (assuming that version hasn't been retconned out of existence yet by whatever their latest crossover event was). As to how the character will fit in with the AOS crew, I don't know. I've actually kinda enjoyed the series since

I've actually kinda enjoyed the series since the later part of the first season, and people have always moaned about there not being many major Marvel characters in it - this actually seems like a decent choice as they're clearly not ready to put him in the main cinematic universe yet (even though they're technically connected - AOS even more so than the various Netflix series'). I'll certainly be checking out the new series.

I'm hoping the character evolves into the iconic Ghost Rider we all know and love. Because this...is.. not ...good.

What's up with that jacket? And why is he driving a car instead of riding a motorcycle? CG car is cheaper than CG motorcycle? Why don't they make him drive a Reliant Robin while they're at it?

This is the trouble with CG skulls in general. It's *really* hard to make something realistic when even the real version looks kinda fake. And then you set it on fire, which fucks up the lighting. At least the decided to make it cartoonish, which helps. The Nick Cage version tried to go realistic and utterly failed.

If Marvel ever does Johnny Blaze in a Netflix series or in one of their films, Norman Reedus or Charlie Hunnam would be perfect.

I'm glad you're not involved in casting, there would only be like 15 actors or actresses in everything.

Please recite one example on this site where I listed Reedus or Hunnam for anything else when it came to casting for a movie role.

Ghost Driver is Lame

And no, there isn't a damn Netflix show coming when they got this mess using the character. Stop that BS and just deal with this mess being the only Marvel Studios Ghost Rider.

Don't really keep up with the show but that image already looks a LOT better than both of the movies. Mark Steven Johnson should never be allowed near a camera again.

Wow!! As expected, that looks terrible. Don' get me wrong, I like AoS, but the skull looks so photoshopped.

So basically, he's just a hipster with a skull? Boring.

Why are they going with Reyes version over Blaze? Seems like an odd choice to introduce the character.

No, not anymore.
The rights reverted to Marvel a few years ago

Oh really!! Well, then this is in fact an odd choice. Maybe Marvel has something planned for Johnny Blaze.

Marvel probably drew up a list of "A" and "B" heroes that were off-limits to Agents of Shield, and Blaze is at least a "B".

I think Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is pretty damn underrated when it comes to this golden age of comic book film and TV. Yes, the first half of Season 1 was crap to be honest. NCIS with a comic book touch, but it has really turned around into an all around entertaining show with fun characters and overall solid story arcs. And I think that shows with the simple fact that this show is entering it's 4th season on network television.
