Check out the first pics of the Three Stooges cast in character

May. 24, 2011by: Mike Sampson

Like it or not, the Farrelly Brothers are filming their adaptation of THE THREE STOOGES in Atlanta. Yesterday someone was able to snap some pics of the cast in action including Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes and Will Sasso (Moe, Larry and Curly, respectively).

Larry is the only Stooge we get a really good look at. Moe is the one in the back using the eye-dropper and Curly has his back to us (but at least from behind looks a lot like Curly). Hayes as Larry looks pretty terrible but judging by what some of the extras look like, there appears to have been some recent confrontation and that may explain why his hair looks deflated. (If you look in the first picture below, you can also get a glimpse of Sofia Vergara in the blue dress.)

I'm sure we'll be getting an official shot of the Stooges in USA Today or Entertainment Weekly sometime soon but just based off these pics, what do you think?

I might be the only one..

but I'm digging the looks. I'll wait for a trailer to make a true decison about the film but honestly, The Farrelly brothers don't usually let me down.

So how come this article has an 11% rating by the users, but most of us with a negative opinion on the film got like a million thumbs down? Did some Stooges enthusiast keep logging in and out, giving us each numerous thumbs down? I am shocked. Shocked and appalled. *stares at prime suspect, pretony* ;-)

I find it hilarious that someone seems bent out of shape over negative reaction to this movie! Get over it!

I don't think there is any saving this thing as it is just a bad idea. I know everyone loves to say "if only it was (Jim Carrey, Sean Penn, whatever) instead". There is no way that any actor could make this watchable and I'm pretty sure they all came to that conclusion at some point. Stick to the originals, kids.

Wow.

How did we go from Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, and Jim Carrey to this? I was actually sort of interested back then. Though for what it's worth, Will Sasso was by and large the best thing about MadTV back when it was actually funny. Elvis, Kenny Rogers, Steven Seagal....so great.

I Don't Care

I do not care how good or bad this movie looks, I am going to see it. I don't have high hopes, but I want to because I LOVE the Three Stooges. So if I go to the theater and it's a train wreck, so be it...

Agreed

I'm with everyone else saying that they should've gone with the original cast. Del Toro and Penn were perfect but to me Carrey was always a terrible choice. Fat Suits never work!

So, they went from a couple award-winning actors and a box office staple...

...to "that fat guy from MAD TV," the guy nobody remembers from "Will and Grace" and some no-name actor?

Yeah, I've lost all interest.

Not sure about this.

I was more interested when the cast was Jim Carrey, Benicio Del Toro, and Sean Penn.

Does anyone hear that echo? Chris Nolan shouted into the Original Idea Well in Hollywood and no one answered. If this had been with the original high-profile cast it would have at least been interesting. Now, not so much.
