So, in case you missed it (which you didn't), the new trailer for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 debuted earlier this morning and is currently the hottest thing cookin' on the internets. Now that everyone has had time to watch and rewatch to the point of studying it for a school project, there's one more layer to add as Total Film has dropped a cool trailer commentary video with director Marc Webb, Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx, and Emma Stone all discussing the various aspects of the new trailer, while providing insight into the film itself.

Take a look:

Some very interesting tidbits in here, particularly from Webb, who has a lot to say, commenting on things like the film not being a "dark movie," Electro being the "main villain" and how "Oscorp is the place from which all things-all nasty things-emerge in this movie and Spider-Man's going to have to confront that." The trailer itself is littered with Easter Eggs, many of which stem from the computer screen that Harry Osborn operates. Things like "Ravencroft" (an institute for the criminally insane in the Spidey comics), Experiment OCT 32A” (Dr. Otto Octavius, perhaps?) “Exoskeleton” (the R.H.I.N.O. armor?), a “Dr. Morbius File,” a “Venom Storage," and potentially many more if you feel like digging any deeper.

One thing is for certain after the trailer debut today: Sony is going BIG with the future of Spider-Man.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 swings into theaters on May 02, 2014.

Dane DeHaan looks like a great Osborne with a lot more unhinged potential than James Franco. Most things look promising. But I'm not sure I like that everything villainy comes out of Oscorp, that seems a bit limiting and might get silly after a while.

Meh

Seems like a decent enough trailer. Same old graphics / nothing new and ground breaking. Rhino stands on his back legs which is a good thing I guess. Wish he was wearing the Ultimate armor and charging on 2 feet. Harry wears the armor from Elysium ( can't we get a glider that remotely has the goblin look? ) I wish it wasn't Garfield and instead was Logan Lerman or someone that was a teenager/early 20's. The final battle scene with Electro, looks like it's straight out of a video game. I'll

It was pretty interesting listening to Andrew Garfield talk about being "afraid of falling" or "afraid of jumping" when he was sitting on the edge of that building; I don't think I've heard actors discuss height stunts that way.

Watching the trailer it seems like Garfield is already bored in the role. Doesn't help that everything about the footage just looks SO "we've seen all this before in different movies" generic.

That was definitely interesting. It would be cool to see more films do this for their trailers...would love to see one for Days of Future Past.
