Check out the trailer for documentary Doomed! The Untold Story Of Roger Corman's "The Fantastic Four"

Before the 2005 big-screen debut of Marvel's FANTASTIC FOUR there was another version of the famed foursome from producer Roger Corman. Filmed in 1993-94 but never released to the public, Corman's THE FANTASTIC FOUR was ripe with low-budget style and B-movie glitz, but would never see the light of day. Rumor was that producer Bernd Eichinger had only made the film in order to retain the rights (he would later serve as producer of the 2005 film). Now, there's a documentary featuring the cast and crew of the ill-fated production, entitled DOOMED: THE UNTOLD STORY OF ROGER CORMAN'S "THE FANTASTIC FOUR" which takes a look at the history of the production and just what went down with final film.

Take a look:

If you're fascinated with the behind-the-scenes of these kinds of things then this is for you. Personally, I'm intrigued as hell to hear the details on this, just as I am for THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN LIVES: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED? It's kind of amazing to peel back the layers and see what could've been (or actually was) in films that almost happened. No release date is set for this just yet, but I'd expect some kind of release in 2014, likely on VOD. Can't wait!

In the meantime, the next incarnation of FANTASTIC FOUR starts shooting this year for release on June 19, 2015.

Extra Tidbit: Would you pay to see Corman's version on the big screen? I'd be down for it!

I own the Doom Armor from this flick. Bought it years ago from an add in toyshop magazine from kraus publications in the 90's for 200 bucks, signed by corman.

Man, is that the greatest conversation starter or what? Sounds terrific.

Doomed indeed. The actual movie is probably the cheesiest movie I have ever seen but I'd love to watch this documentary. And yes, I would also love to watch this movie on the big screen with large crowd. It should be epic.

Ha, nice

I saw this movie years back and it was packed with cheese. I love how much the actor playing Doom uses hand gestures to emote. Also its sort of sad that the Thing looks better in this then in either of the more recent FF movies.

This inclusion is a no-brainer. However, any Doomed! DVD distributor should include a coveted copy of the 1994 film. Like solitaire and Masterdebator, I have seen inferior copies of the Corman adaptation. But, a person would not mind getting the documentary and its subject all on one DVD.

awesome

Like so many others, I bought a crappy bootleg of this years ago, and found it surprisingly charming! Is it a good movie? God no...but it is a helluva lot of fun, and the Doom armor is absolutely perfect

Awesome!

I've seen this movie... It is horrible but entertainingly so. It is better than last two FF movies so it has that going for it. I love documentaries like this (Best Worst Movie) and I can't wait for it to come to VOD.

I wish they would release an official version of Cormans FF though, instead of having to grab horrible copies of it.
