Check out the trailer for Paranormal Activity 2

06.30.2010

It's rare that a trailer for a sequel will completely spoil the first film but that's exactly what you get with this trailer (teaser, really...) for PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2. The first 30 seconds are basically the last 30 seconds of the original film so if you still haven't seen it, you might want to wait before you watch this teaser.

This trailer will be in theaters with TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE where it will no doubt make the throngs of teenagers screech with terrified glee. Even though nothing really happens here. Still no idea exactly what this film is about but we do know now that it has a dog in it. So....

Check out the trailer for PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 below.

Extra Tidbit: There's still no cast listing for this film in IMDB.

I was sold on the trailer...

Until the cheesy pop up scare came up. It was actually suspenseful until then. The first one sucked, so I hope this one's better.

Not really a lot to go on to judge the actual upcoming movie, but the teaser was good.

I'm in the middle . . .

. . . thought the original had some really good parts and some extremely dull stretches, too. Probably would have liked it better in the theater opening night, not on DVD following WAY too much internet over-hype. My only comment about the sequel is that poor dog is TOAST . . .

i hated the first one...

it was complete bullshit, i kept waiting for 'the scariest movie ever made' and all I got was bullshit. whats impressive is the literal shoe string budget and awesome add campaign which made this a success. Lets hope the sequel can actually provide some thrills now that they got a little more money.

VIRAL

Go to the official site. Watch it all the way through to the end. Wait for the image of the room. When it comes back, look at the mirror. Something is written on it. Aside from the fact that the baby is in the crib on the reflection, the writing says: WHAT IS HAPPENING TO HUNTER. To do this you must find a mirror, put the laptop in front of the mirror and turn the laptop upside down. The image will be upside down and reversed. Viral anyone?

I wonder how many on here hate it saw it only on DVD or Blu-Ray.. .you really had to see it in theaters to truly get the hair raising effect.

You have a good point, but I saw it in theaters and wasn't fan. I didn't think it was bad, just far from being the scariest movie ever made. I was more scared when I saw Jaws on the big screen a couple years ago after seeing it a billion times on video and dvd.

How are people scared of Jaws seriously? I agree with you iammarshall, i think alot of people didn't get to experience it in the theaters. I couldn't sleep for a month. Haters are just trying to act tough. Paranormal will also be creepier than slasher.

relief

I'm so glad to hear that other people on this site hated the first one as much as I did. How that movie made money is beyond me, because the movie I saw was criminally stupid and the only thing about it that was scary was the fact that people kept paying to see it. Number 2 is going to be more of the same.

Well hopefully they got better actors because that girl they used in the first one was awful. Her attempt at being possessed by a demon was laughable while her dim-witted doofus boyfriend just stood around saying "What was that?!" You would think after a month of this shit, he would figure out what it was.

Honestly the best thing the film had going for it it's quiet sense of dread, which was never really scary to begin with, but at least it wasn't torture porn. But then... Man, that ending.

Whatever cheeseball asshole thought that was a good ending. That was such a cop out, over the top, hilarious ending. I know the original was worst, but if that's the best they could come up with, we're in serious trouble thinking they'll come up with anything original for this cash-grab sequel.

Paranormal Activity 2: Book of Shadows

This to me reminds me of the sequel to The Blair Witch Project: a sequel to a low budget film that has a bigger budget and a new director and writer. The studio sees a chance to make more money when a low budget film is a success, so they make a sequel and the result is rarely good. What happens is that a studio with money to spare tries to make a film that was well received and cost little to make. What happens is that a studio with money to spare tries to make a film that was well received and cost little to make. What they end up doing is trying for the "low-budget" feel but with polished effects and, often, that takes the charm out of it. They may act like the movie did well in spite of the small budget, but sometimes the small budget and how the film is told using very little money is a part of the appeal. So, like Book of Shadows, we'll get a movie with a bigger budget but nothing to justify it's existence. I hate when a studio tries to make a film that looks "indie"!

The first was hilariously bad, so I definitely won't waste my money on this. How people were scared by the first film, I have no idea.

Thank you. Thank you. It wasn't even scary. I was expecting some real subtle factors of creepiness, and it ended up turning into just routine bullshit.

It might be a good sequel but i bet it won't be as good as the original. Let's end it in part 2 OK.

It sure creeped me out. I'm kind of bummed though that they're still exploiting the big scene of the first film. Did anyone notice what was being said towards the end? Someone is talking. I can't make out what they're saying.

IS THAT IT????

The first film was fucking terrible, it was god awful and the ending was so shit that by the time the end came i just sighed and took out the blu ray and just was shocked that sooooo many people said it was great when it sucked so bad. The sequel looks even worse but I will no doubt rent it hoping they hae the lost the crap characters and gone for something special, here's hoping kid

I'm scurred!

The first movie got a lot of haters (presumably because it didn't have half-naked chicks running around, bad CGI monsters, and buckets of blood) but I expect a lot more out of my horror films and personally loved the first. I'll def be there opening night with a theater full of people.

All I could think about during the first movie is
1. Why can't I ever see any of the strings attached to the doors?
2. Why the guy doing all the stomping doesn't just come from behind the camera and show his face?
3. Why that chick was rocking back and forward like Leo in What's eating Gilbert Grape?

Wow. That is awesome. It looks like I'm going to get nightmares for a whole month again. I loved how they expanded the concept with the baby disappearing but can be seen through a reflection! That's creepy and I love how the house is bigger and there's like 4 cameras and there's even a dog.

Although the first had points that scared the hell out of me, the acting was atrocious. That girl from the first killed it's 'real feel' for me.

Lets hoping PA2 gets some better actors.

Actually Mike you spoiled the ending for those who havent seen it. From that trailer you cant tell that scene was from the ending of the original. I still say the alternate ending was better anyway. But im excited for this. These type of movies always scare the shit out of me.

I'm there. If it's anything like the experience the first one was, then it shouldn't disappoint in the theatres.

Noticed something creepy...

In the last shot with the girl in the door (you can see it in the screencap above), the baby in the shot isn't in his crib but if you look carefully at the mirror reflection, you can see him clearly leaning on the edge. Creepy!

Excited!

I for one loved the first movie as it was bold and original. I'm up for a direct sequel for sure as long as creative effort was put into it.
