Chris Evans is raising a genius in the trailer for Marc Webb’s Gifted

Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) in a coastal town in Florida. Frank's plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the seven-year-old's mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank's formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan), whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary. I didn't hate the first AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, but I also didn't think it was the right fit for Marc Webb. The writer/director really proved himself with 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, and he really excels at casting couples. Case in point; Chris Evans and Mckenna Grace look fantastic together in this trailer. I'm happy to see Webb return to something a little more grounded and emotional. Here's hoping this one doesn't end with your typical courtroom BS.
