Chris Pine might be one of the new Horrible Bosses in the sequel

10.10.2013

Now that I think about it, Captain Kirk is kind of a shitty boss. Deadline has learned New Line is searching for actors for a father/son duo of horrible bosses for the sequel, and the son may be played by Chris Pine. The studio was also trying to snag Christoph Waltz as the father, but unfortunately the actor won't be available for HORRIBLE BOSSES 2 or whatever they end up calling it.

Chris Pine might seem like a step down compared to Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell from the first film, but if he's teamed up with a great actor like Christoph Waltz it could be a recipe for awesome. Anthony Hopkins maybe?

I'm not a huge fan of the first film. With all the excellent talent involved I was expecting it to be much funnier and was pretty disappointed with the end result. There are some scenes that are hilarious, however overall it's not the most consistent comedy. But I'll give the sequel a chance if the story isn't just more of the same and New Line finds some interesting actors for the new bosses from hell. Maybe having a different director will help.

HORRIBLE BOSSES 2 will be in theaters November 26th, 2014.

Chris Pine would be a solid addition to HORRIBLE BOSSES 2: he's a better actor than he gets credit for. I could very much see him as the spoiled, over-privileged son of the boss.

I can't believe no one thought of Gary Cole (OFFICE SPACE) as a horrible boss. Meryl Streep would be amazing as well, if you're going upmarket. She's another underrated comedic actress.

I'd bet a dollar it'll be called "More Horrible Bosses" or "Horribler Bosses"

If it doesn't ... well then I can atleast guarantee somebody in marketing thought they were so fucking clever with them.
I am all for another movie with Charlie Day as a lead. My biggest problem with Horrible Bosses is that it didn't go far enough. It was TAME compared to horrible shit ordinary people imagine doing to their bosses.

Clearly

William shatner is the best choice, and I haven't even scrolled down yet. But I prolly won't check this out in the theater (if at all), unless the reviews are great. Wasn't terribly impressed with this, and idk what a sequel will do, other than make money. The romcom going the distance is funnier than the original (I think that's what it's called - with drew Barrymore and Justin long).

Michael Keaton would be great as a horrible boss. After The Other Guys, that guy can kill it in a comedy. I think I would also like to see Bryan Cranston as a horrible boss, do something that's a cross between Walter White and the dad from Malcolm in the MIddle. Or just full on Tim Watley. Aside from that, I woldn't mind seeing someone like Bruce Willis or even Matt Damon.

As for the plot, I think they should go with a full on title change as oppose to calling it Horrible Bosses 2. One

One of the plot details could be Jason Bateman in his role as VP of Sales (or whatever he was called at the end) is in stiff competition with another company run by a sadistic father/son duo. Or even two brothers - get Damon and Affleck to play the brothers!

Eva Green needs to be the female horrible boss this time. Tell me I'm wrong, I dare you.

He'd be good.

I really hope they bring back Bob Newhart.

Tom Hanks, Jeff Daniels, Steve Carrell, and Meryl Streep would also make terrific horrible bosses too in my opinion.

If Pine were to sign on, it would be perfect casting. He's a really good actor and part of that is being a great smart ass (just see certain scenes of Star Trek, Carriers, People Like Us).

But yeah after reading Netforce's suggestion of Michael Keaton, I would love to see that happen along with Alec Baldwin, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, or Robert Downey Jr being new bosses in this film as well.

Philip Seymour Hoffman could be really good. I think Alec Baldwin might be a stretch, he's still coming off playing a, somewhat, bad boss on 30 Rock - might want a break from the type casting. Robert Downey Jr. would be good too, just so we can see him in more stuff aside from Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes.

Chris Pine would make a welcome addition. I'm still not sure what the premise would be, since I can't imagine them going the Strangers on a Train route again, after how the first was resolved. I still think they should try to get Bob Newhart back as Bateman's boss though. That final scene was one of my favorite parts.

Michael Keaton would kill it; I'm glad he's starting to resurface in more films with stuff like The Other Guys, RoboCop and Birdman. Diane Lane would be a great alpha b*tch for these guys to go up against. She was over the top but funny as a diva morning news presenter in Morning Glory.

Hehe, I don't mean to rain on your parade but I think you're referring to Diane Keaton who starred in Morning Glory. But yes, she was very funny and quirky in that movie. Really love that movie.

Just like the Hangover, the selling point is not the horrible bosses/memory loss. It is the fact that these 3 guys are together. Why not just do a COMPLETELY different plot with the same characters having that shared history. It would be like a cinematic sitcom. I'm already dreading the teaser where the 3 are at there usual bar and Charlie goes. I can't believe we have even more horrible bosses.

Ya, after watching hangover 3 this week, I certainly laughed a few times, but realized the filmmakers never understood why we liked it - bc of the 3 characters. They need some crazy mission to get into, sure, but not the same one. They should just look around at other scripts and if they find one acceptable, take it, buy it, whatever, and put those three characters in place and tweak it to the first film and the character's ability.
