Chris Pratt talks future Marvel movies, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters and more

If there's one thing you can count on Chris Pratt being, is that the dude is going to be upfront about whatever you ask him. In a recent interview with GQ, Pratt just laid it all out there and confirmed exactly what the hell is going on with multiple projects like GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2, INDIANA JONES and if the man is going to be GHOSTBUSTER. If anything, it's nice to see some confirmation that Star Lord is going to show up in other movies besides GUARDIANS. You check out the whole interview here, but we've pulled the highlights for you below.

Pratt on self doubt while playing Star-Lord and his advice from James Gunn:

I thought I was bad. I thought I was doing bad acting. I would just think: My bullshit meter's going off. This screams inauthentic to me. [James Gunn's] like, 'Who gives a shit what you think? I don't f*cking care! It's not your f*cking movie, dude, it's mine! Trust me and shut the f*ck up and do what the f*ck I tell you, and scream it! More! Louder!' I would get pissy because as an actor, you sometimes hate that direction: Louder, faster. But it's true—sometimes you have to be louder, speak more clearly, let the words do the work, and just get out of the way."

Pratt's first meeting with James Gunn for GOTG2:

I got teary-eyed. [Gunn's] so f*cking smart and peculiar.

Pratt's contract regarding Marvel films:

I'm tied to doing three more, or five more, Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever it is, you know, two more Guardians plus another couple...

If JURASSIC WORLD producer Steven Spielberg and him talked about the Indiana Jones rumors:

I just didn't bring it up and he didn't bring it up, so I don't know.

On whether or not there's any truth to being a part of GHOSTBUSTERS or KNIGHT RIDER:

No one has ever even spoken to me about [GHOSTBUSTERS]. Never. I've even seen Channing a couple times. As far as I know, that's complete bullshit. KNIGHT RIDER — bullshit.

I suppose it's only natural that after GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY hit, made money and audiences loved him that his name would be attached to every other project under the sun. I'm rather interested to see if he can keep this streak going with JURASSIC WORLD, and prove that he can do more than Star Lord. I don't doubt it, mind you, but I think it's important to prove to those who haven't seen him in anything else. Either way, we'll always have Johnny Karate.

You can see Chris Pratt next in JURASSIC WORLD, which streets June 12, 2015.

Which of these projects would you like to see Chris Pratt in?

Man this dude has a mouth on him. I thought he was really cool and laid back but he apparently feels it is appropriate to swear every other word. How uncivilized....

Pratt is a versatile actor. He can literally tackles any role so I have faith in him.

I'm diggin Chris Pratt

And he's already proven to be fairly versatile. He does look good as Indy however I don't think Indiana Jones is a role that can be passed from actor to actor every few years like James Bond. There's only one Indiana Jones and that's Harrison Ford.

This is subtly our biggest clue to "Phase 4" (or whatever they'll call it) yet. There's only one Guardians on the slate for Phase 3, meaning if a 3rd entry comes together then that'll be after Inhumans. I'm assuming the "other couple" films are: definitely Infinity War Pt 2 (almost definitely) and either Part 1 as well, Inhumans, or something unannounced.

Indiana Jones

I think he is perfect for Indiana Jones. He's got the chops, the look, the comedy and the action prowess to pull it off for sure. I'd be down for that. Ghostbusters on the other hand? No. I just think he is in a good position right now to be picky with his projects and I see failure written all over a Ghostbusters reboot. Hopefully they slide him into an Avengers film, I would love to see how him and Iron Man would react to one another.

Man...as much as I love Pratt, and he's definitely movie star material, I want to see him take the lead in some smaller films. We've seen glimpses of what he can really do in Moneyball and even parts of Her and Parks and Rec, but I want him to stretch his acting capabilities. The guy seems awesome and I don't want his career to be totally down the drain if he has one or two failed blockbusters in a row.

Not saying I don't think he's one of the few capable of being the next Indy or that I

Not saying I don't think he's one of the few capable of being the next Indy or that I wouldn't love to see him be a ghostbuster, but from what I've seen I think he has a lot more talent than his typical Andy Dwyer/Star Lord shtick, and I hope he doesn't get typecast too hard.

I like this guy. And as much as no one can replace Ford as Indy seeing his face photo shopped with the iconic fedora every time his casting is brought up just looks right. I will say it again, let Ford go the way of the fatherly role like Connery and make Pratt the love child of him and Willie Scott and keep it in the family. That way, I think we can get another great adventure trilogy of the whip-wielding hero. After all Disney did not get the rights to sit on it, so I would rather someone

I think Pratt will work nicely but I'd rather they do the Bond thing were the actor is replaced and not a continuation of the present continuity. I like Indy in the 1920-1940s. A continuation means the new Pratt films would set in the 1960-1970s, meh. So a kind of reboot but with new stories and not redoing any of the Indy films. And please no origin stuff.

To me it makes sense as a family thing, Indy is much more sympathetic than Bond in terms of his relationships. The original concept was Spielberg and Lucas wanting to do a Bond series of their own, hence the nod to the original bond playing his father, but with variations of character including being more rough around the edges. It seems fitting then that Indy would not have as much luck not getting the women in his life pregnant versus Bond who sleeps with countless women without one child

Bond must be sterile. :) But I am not against your suggestion either I just wouldn't want Ford exonerated from the series right now if he is willing and able I think he needs some type of role and putting him in the side seat instead of the saddle makes sense.

The guy seems really down to earth and deserves all the success he's been getting. Looking forward to Jurassic World, and seeing him and the rest of the Guardians eventually joining up with the Avengers for Infinity Wars.

Fair enough.

I want more Guardians leading into the Infinity War and beyond, could see him as Indy and, thank fuck, he squashed the Ghostbusters rumor. One abomination is enough.

A couple more Guardians plus another couple? That would be meeting up with the Avengers maybe?!
