Christian Bale is Out Of The Furnace in the first trailer for the thriller with Casey Affleck and Woody Harrelson
Yesterday, we got our first look at the poster for OUT OF THE FURNACE, the new thriller from director Scott Cooper (CRAZY HEART) and today we have a look at the trailer for the film, which looks so much more than just a simple revenge thriller, but a heartfelt, tense, and dramatic thriller with a powerhouse cast. I wouldn't expect a plug-and-play actioner from Cooper to begin with, but this looks much better than anticipated with stars Christian Bale, Woody Harrelson, and Casey Affleck bringing their A-game.
Take a look:
Here's the synopsis:
From Scott Cooper, the critically-acclaimed writer and director of Crazy Heart, comes a gripping and gritty drama about family, fate, circumstance, and justice. Russell Baze (Christian Bale) has a rough life: he works a dead-end blue collar job at the local steel mill by day, and cares for his terminally ill father by night. When Russell's brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) returns home from serving time in Iraq, he gets lured into one of the most ruthless crime rings in the Northeast and mysteriously disappears. The police fail to crack the case, so - with nothing left to lose - Russell takes matters into his own hands, putting his life on the line to seek justice for his brother. The impressive cast of Christian Bale and Casey Affleck are rounded out by Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Zoe Saldana, Sam Shepard and Willem Dafoe.
This, to me, is what great filmmaking is all about. Rounding up a tremendous cast, putting them in a world that's unlike their own, and making a story that feels convincing and real under extreme circumstances. OUT OF THE FURNACE is officially on the "must see" list.
OUT OF THE FURNACE opens on November 27, 2013 (Limited) and December 6, 2013 (Expansion)
|Extra Tidbit:||Glad to see Bale back in action after hanging up the cowl.|
