Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner, and Amy Adams do it to survive in the second trailer for American Hustle

A new trailer for David O. Russell's AMERICAN HUSTLE has dropped, and there's a ton of new footage. I still can't get over how much this is reminding me of a Scorsese film. If you would have never told me that Russell helmed this, I would have automatically just said it was a new one from Scorsese. Many of you can see why as I heard the same comparison when the first trailer came out at the beginning of August.

"Your father is a sick son of a bitch. Don't repeat that. But yes."

Synopsis:

A fictional film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock our nation, American Hustle tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia thats as dangerous as it is enchanting. Jeremy Renner is Carmine Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irvings unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down. Like David O. Russells previous films, American Hustle defies genre, hinging on raw emotion, and life and death stakes.

In case you didn't catch it, Louis C.K. was in there for like two seconds (around 1:58). This trailer highlights more of the relationship between the characters that Adams and Bale play with a little Renner on the side. Gotta love Jennifer Lawrence.

AMERICAN HUSTLE opens on December 13, 2013.

This looks phenomenal and is easily my most anticipated film for the rest of the year. It just looks so damn good and everyone looks perfectly in their roles. I can't wait to see each one of the actor's just own their roles and chew up scenery.

While I would've been happy just with the first trailer, this one tells me a little more about the characters and what the hell might actually be going on. Without really saying much. Anyway, my ticket's already bought for this one.

Looks like a lost Scorsese movie.

It's probably deliberate. But man, from the soundtrack to the voice-over by Adams to Christian Bale's mannerisms at the end (tell me he doesn't look EXACTLY like De Niro there!), this looks like a long-lost Scorsese flick. Awesome. I'm so there.

Call me crazy here, but it looks like all that time Bradley Cooper has spent with Deniro is paying off. Him and Bale look like Oscar bait yet again

Crappy trailer to a probable decent movie. Just a bunch of people dressed like the 70's being dramatic. It doesn't give me any indication of what it's about.

This looks very Scorsese -- not that there's anything wrong with it. Even Jeremy Renner has the same haircut as Joe Pesci in both Casino and Goodfellas!
