Christopher Mintz-Plasse on which scenes from the comic will not be in Kick-Ass 2

Kick-Ass 2

KICK-ASS 2 should be a bloody, fun ride but if you've read the comics you know things get pretty dark for Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, and a lot of fans have been wondering how much from the comics might be cut for the film sequel. Christopher Mintz-Plasse was recently interviewed by Digital Spy and he revealed that two noteworthy scenes from the comics will not appear in KICK-ASS 2. Which ones? Scroll past the spoiler buffer to find out!

So Mintz-Plasse says the two scenes that won't be in the film are a rape involving Katie (Kick-Ass' girlfriend from the first movie) and The Motherf*cker's gang The Toxic Mega-C*nts, and the beheading of Colonel Stars & Stripes' dog:

There was a rape and a murdering of a dog that is just a little too much for this kind of world, cause this still is a comic book world and the violence is, even though it's bloody, it is over the top and it is cartoony in a way, that if you put a rape scene or like killing an animal in there it kind of just brings the tone down, it's a little too dark.

It might be too dark, but I know some fans are going to be bummed that these scenes aren't in the film. You can watch the interview with Christopher Mintz-Plasse below, as well as some comments from Mark Millar and director Jeff Wadlow about bringing the sequel to the big screen and if there's a chance a third film will happen. Millar also has some pretty funny things to say about McLovin becoming The Motherf*cker, so check it out.

KICK-ASS 2 also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Jim Carrey, and is in theaters August 16th, 2013.

Seen the movie (no spoilers)

I'm a Kick-Ass fanatic. Have been ever since the comic first hit shelves. I have watched the first movie, literally, a couple dozen of times and felt as if no sequel could top it.
I was able to get into a private screening of it yesterday night, and all I can say is this: You're in for a treat.

The movie blew me away. So much so that I will be spending money to see it again on opening day. I can't wait to buy this on blu-ray.

I think it's ok they left out the rape scene, but even when I love and own dogs, I remember Watchmen and Fear had the balls to chop their heads to state something with effective results, both being mainstream movies.

Makes sense

Both scenes were pretty chilling when I read them in the comic, in fact I even put the graphic novel down for a moment, so it makes sense that it would just really bum a crowd out to see it on the big screen. Especially considering that Kick Ass 2 looks like a fun, good-time movie. It would be a shame to really dampen that fun with these two dark scenes.

GOOD, I hated both of those scenes in the comic book. Glad I won't have to see them realized, the Kick Ass movies are way better than the comics because they're less extreme.

Not surprised they left the rape scene out, sometimes I think Millar just put that in there to test whether or not the studio would include in the film.

I'd be very surprised if they kept the child murder scene.

That's not all

There are more changes, a review spoiled them for me, and they aren't that bad. I can live without the rape and dog, but one of the changes for the end just kind of bugs me a little. But, I won't care as long as the movie is true to the source and is all around a great movie

Thank god. There was no way that either of those scenes would work in the film, at least not if they wanted to keep the humor of the first one.

...Yeah, you're not going to get away with dog-murdering and a rape, even in a movie like Kick-Ass. No complaints there whatsoever. People will go into this expecting a darkly comic and pretty violent take on superheroes, not Cannibal Holocaust.

Mark Millar guaranteed something that didn't end up happening. Shocking.
