Chung in Dragonball

12.06.2007
Jamie Chung has joined the cast of James Wong's (FINAL DESTINATION) live action adaptation of DRAGONBALL as a love-interest called Chi Chi. This is a big break for her, having previously being able to list 'Hooters Girl' in CHUCK AND LARRY and 'Flirting Girl' in Veronica Mars' on her resume. And in true JoBlo.com tradition, since other sites are trying to post up hot pictures of the thus far pretty much unknown starlet, I'm gonna go ahead and give you guys a video instead. A video where she's in a bikini the whole time talking about her ambition. And she's in a bikini the whole time.

DRAGONBALL is the story of an adult humanoid alien named Goku (Justin Chatwin) who, after discovering he was sent to Earth to destroy the population, tries to fulfill the wish of his dying grandfather and collect all seven of the world's mystical Dragon Balls to keep them out of the hands of the evil aliens. James Marsters (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) will play the villainous Piccolo. And yeah, I'd love to be wrong about this, but the odds of this movie being good are fairly remote.
Extra Tidbit: Chung feels her best attributes are her eyes. Hah!

When Bad Turn Worst

Wow, this movie is even worst than I thought it would be. This gonna suck ass. Justin as Goku? Spike as Picolo? And they are fighting?

Call me when Vegeta shows up, and when Piccolo becomes a good guy. AKA the sequel (if they get that far).

Don't Hold Your Breath

There is NO WAY this movie is going to be good. The cast/director are terrible (I love James Marsters as Spike, but NOT Piccolo), I'm sure the budget is tiny compared to what it would have to be. The license simply doesn't lend itself to being a live action feature. It's going to fail. They're fucking idiots.

This all depends...

The question is simple. How close an adaption is it going to be. If its Speed Racer close, then its going to suck balls, if its based on the story, but dramatic visual differences (in character design) they might get away with it.
