Cinemacon 2016: We interview JJ Abrams, Simon Pegg, Megan Fox, & Will Arnett

Yesterday, I had the chance to talk to some of the cast and crew from two of Paramount Pictures upcoming films, STAR TREK BEYOND and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS at Cinemacon in Vegas. JJ Abrams and Simon Pegg were on hand to talk about the film with JJ receiving the Showman of the Year award for his efforts on STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Now, as press lines go, it's not always perfect and sometimes you find yourself faced with the dreaded "one question only" as time runs out and I found myself faced with such a predicament. So, what to ask with only one questions? Well, shit, I needed to know who their favorite Star Wars and Star Trek characters were, respectively. Find out their answers below!

Next up I had a chat with Will Arnett, which started with just him until Megan Fox interview bombed (I'm not complaining). Megan gave me a healthy amount of shit and calls me out for not knowning that Arnett was French-Canadian (I admit, I do NOT know every movie star's birthplace), but I had to quiz her Turtle knowledge regardless. It was a fun chat nonetheless.

Lastely, we talked with the director of TMNT2, Dave Green, and producer Brad Fuller, both of whom talked about the challenges of the sequel, the smorgasbord of characters, Michael Bay's involvement, and more. Nice group of guys who seem like they've got their sights on the right tone for the follow up.

We've got more interviews on the way and you can catch up on all of our Cinemacon 2016 coverage right HERE!

Dave Green seems like a cool guy. Glad to hear that the turtles and their bond will be front and center in the sequel. That's the thing that worked great in the first film, so it's very good that they're building on that. And Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang are welcome additions also.
