Civil War will contain hints for Thor 3; Lady Sif to have pivotal role

07.21.2015

You may recognize Jaimie Alexander's Asgardian warrior, Lady Sif, from a few scenes in both THOR and THOR: THE DARK WORLD. While she's been relegated to popping up in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the time being, it looks like her character is really going to get in on the action coming THOR: RAGNAROK. Alexander said this much when speaking with the L.A. Times, admitting that Marvel's generally reluctant to give her much information because they know she's quick to confide.

Jaimie Alexander on Lady Sif's role in the future:

Marvel, I think on purpose, they don’t tell me certain things. Because they know I’ll be like, "So here's what's gonna happen." But I do know I will be in THOR 3 and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can’t tell you what because I’ll get shot.

Regarding easter eggs for RAGNAROK:

Yeah, there’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in through "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "The Avengers," "Captain" will have some stuff. There's just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you’re really paying attention. They’re so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.

Coming from someone who's not well-versed with the Thor comics, I've found the solo films to be lacking the weight needed to make them gripping or interesting. For me, Thor has never really worked as the main character. With that said, I did enjoy the blonde one's time kicking ass with his battle mates in THE DARK WORLD. Given the title of the upcoming THOR: RAGNAROK, I hope this will mean the scope is opened up to include a lot of other characters from Thor's universe.

THOR: RAGNAROK is scheduled to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.

You want to give Jaimie Alexander a bigger role in THOR: RAGNAROK? Great idea! Wonderful idea! Perfect!

Who CARES?

How about you focus on the contents of THIS movie rather than dropping more hints for the next movie? Stop making 2 hour commercials for your next films. I'm starting to fall out of love with the MCU. The MCU movies are becoming very "by the numbers" popcorn movies. Ant-Man is a perfect example of this. Ant-Man was ok. The formula Marvel uses for there movies is getting annoying. Though almost every marvel movie has a thematic difference, the structure is always the same and the script is

The formula Marvel uses for there movies is getting annoying. Though almost every marvel movie has a thematic difference, the structure is always the same and the script is always filled with really hash cliche moments and dialogue. Ant-Man was no exception. It had all the normal uninteresting beats and besides the upgraded "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" effects, the movie was very average.

The main problem I had with it was when an average movie scene was happening, I couldn't help but think how much more interesting Edgar Write would have made it. I know it's been talk about to death, but the more Marvel movies that come out the more and more generic they seem. This was a situation where they definitely should have kept on their original Director.

That was my biggest problem with the second Avengers. It felt like there was a whole lot of "movie" missing. All the moments that the studio wanted in the film to promote the next film could've been jettisoned to create a much more focused story. Whedon wanted to make his own movie. The studio wanted something generic to fit in with their universe. Same with Edgar Write and Ant-Man. Let the filmmakers you hired make the movie you HIRED THEM TO MAKE.

I'm all for subtle nods to the fans. I am a fan. It's wonderful. But when it gets in the way of the story I'm watching, it's annoying.

It's about time the gave Lady Sif some more, vital screen time than just simple eye candy. She's one of the more kick ass female characters that the established MCU has and it would be great to see her be utilized in that sense more.

More Sif, please! She has been sorely under-used in the Thor movies so far.
I'm betting there will be a big plot point where Loki, as Odin, wants to take Sif as his new bride, and Thor ain't having none of that.

I give odds at 4 to 1 that Thor is injured at the end by the baddy, She picks up Mjolnir and becomes Lady Thor and defeats it.

Natalie Portman will become Lady Thor if they follow the comics... Lady Sif is her own character and stands on her own well. It is Natalie Portman's character that needs a major overhaul as she is the most bland character in the entire Marvel cinematic universe.

My hope is Chris O'Dowd steps up and becomes New Thor haha

Isnt it established that Portman isnt really all that into the Thor movies?

The MCU is its own canon distinct from the comics: if they were going to go the Lady Thor route, having it be Sif would be a very popular decision.
