Claire Foy is the new Lisbeth in The Girl in the Spider’s Web

Back in May, we let you know Fede Alvarez's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO reboot was looking to cast either Claire Foy or Felicity Jones as the new Lisbeth Slander, replacing the amazing Rooney Mara for some reason.

Well, it turns out this was correct as today we have news that THE CROWN'S Claire Foy has officially been cast a the new Lisbeth in Alvarez's THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB.

Fede Alvarez on the casting:

I couldn't be more thrilled about Claire taking the reins of the iconic Lisbeth Salander. Claire is an incredible, rare talent who will inject a new and exciting life into Lisbeth.  I can't wait to bring this new story to a worldwide audience, with Claire Foy at its center.

The newest book in the Millennium series THE GIRL WHO TAKES AN EYE FOR AN EYE was released this week and Sony is already developing their next movie based on said book.

She is the girl with the dragon tattoo — a genius hacker and uncompromising misfit. He is a crusading journalist whose championing of the truth often brings him to the brink of prosecution.

Late one night, Blomkvist receives a phone call from a source claiming to have information vital to the United States. The source has been in contact with a young female superhacker — a hacker resembling someone Blomkvist knows all too well. The implications are staggering.
