Clint Mansell to reunite with director Duncan Jones to score Source Code

If you’re not a fan of Clint Mansell, GET THE F*CK OUT.

Okay, I’m kidding. But really, Mansell (BLACK SWAN, PI) is fantastic. So it should be great news for fans of both him and MOON director Duncan Jones that the talented film composer will be scoring the upcoming sci-fi film SOURCE CODE.

From Jones’ Twitter feed: “Have a bloody fantastic bit of Source Code news. Super star Clint Mansell WILL be scoring the film. You have no idea how relieved I am.”

Though this only marks Jones’ second feature, the filmmaker gained much deserved cred and love for MOON, a film where atmosphere was of the utmost importance for its effectiveness. Of course, much of that is owed to Mansell’s incredible music.

SOURCE CODE – starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, and Jeffrey Wright – is about “a soldier (Gyllenhaal) who, as part of an experimental government program to investigate a terrorist incident, finds himself in the body of an unknown commuter living and reliving a harrowing train bombing until he can find out who is responsible for it.” It’s set to open April 15, 2011.
