Director Ben Wheatley's (KILL LIST, A FIELD IN ENGLAND) big screen adaptation of the J.G. Ballard novel High-Rise just keeps getting better and better. The movie already has a fantastic ensemble cast that includes Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Luke Evans, Sienna Miller and Elisabeth Moss, and Film Music Reporters has learned Clint Mansell will compose the music for the thriller.

Clint Mansell is best known for providing the scores for Darren Aronofsky's films, but he has also composed the music for other movies like MOON, FILTH and STOKER, and scored the video game Mass Effect 3. Mansell is one of my favorite film score composers, and I can't wait to listen to his HIGH-RISE score.

Synopsis for the J.G. Ballard book from Amazon:

When a class war erupts inside a luxurious apartment block, modern elevators become violent battlegrounds and cocktail parties degenerate into marauding attacks on “enemy” floors. In this visionary tale, human society slips into violent reverse as once-peaceful residents, driven by primal urges, re-create a world ruled by the laws of the jungle.

As I've said before, HIGH-RISE sounds like THE RAID and SNOWPIERCER had a baby, and I'm very excited to see the first trailer for Ben Wheatley's new film. Wheatley is currently doing post-production work on HIGH-RISE, and the movie is expected to open sometime this year.
