Clint & Mark Twain
Nov. 3, 2008
Clint Eastwood has mentioned several times that the upcoming GRAN TORINO, in which he directs himself as a cantankerous, racist war vet, would be his last on screen performance, saying he preferred to stay behind the camera these days. That is, of course, if he found material compelling enough to put him in front of the camera again. Well, it seems that he found just that (as well as his next directing project) in a drama titled REMEMBERING MARK TWAIN. Producer Albert Ruddy tells Moviehole: "I'm doing another movie with Clint in the spring called "Remembering Mark Twain". He's directing the movie, and he's gonna bookend the movie playing Samuel Clemens in the hospital. It's a really sweet, beautiful movie. So that's what I'm all about!" Awesome. Hey, being onscreen for 40 years doesn't just go away overnight.
