Jason Statham has followed a tried-and-true path to success that involves kicking, punching and shooting nearly everyone in his way. And fellow Brit Clive Owen is no stranger to similar tactics, if with a bit more deliberation and panache.
And it sounds like they’ll both be putting their kill-skills to good use in the action flick THE KILLER ELITE. Owen and Statham kicking ass together? That’s a tasty rare steak slathered in awesome sauce with a side order of raw knuckles and .45 caliber rounds.
Not a remake of Sam Peckinpah’s 1975 flick (which featured James Caan and Robert Duvall), this one is instead based on a book called “The Featherman”, about a group of former special forces soldiers being hunted by assassins. Statham is a Navy SEAL coming out of retirement to help his chum in the thriller by commercials director Gary McKendry.
Statham is also currently stepping in as the new Chuck Bronson for a remake of THE MECHANIC.
