Cloverfield for kids!

I still haven’t seen CLOVERFIELD and unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to. So as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, let’s just say I’ve heard there are some pretty nasty creatures in that movie, and certain phobias of mine prevent me from confronting them. So I still have no clue what the monster looks like, and based on the few descriptions I’ve read, I still can’t conjure up an image of it in my head. I can’t even fathom it.

But now Hasbro, the toy company behind G.I. Joe and Transformers has announced they’ll be selling a 14-inch representation of the CLOVERFIELD monster. It’s said to be extremely detailed, and will come with interchangeable heads, the severed head of the Statue of Liberty that made the trailer famous, among other things. This isn't an action figure kids, it's limited edition type shit meant for display, not play. If you want more details, head over the Hasbro Toy Shop where you can also buy your very own figure for a hundo. According to the site, they’ll be unveiling a photo of the monster soon, so be careful about spoiling it for yourself. But rumour has it that the photo on the right is the first official shot of the monster. This product has the full cooperation of Paramount and Bad Robot, J.J. Abrams’ production company.

Extra Tidbit: Other scenes I had to skip because of my phobia, both Peter Jackson's: Shelob in THE RETURN OF THE KING and the insect scene in KING KONG.

gojira!

Attempting to remain spoiler free as possible, I do recall a few scenes (nearing the end) where said beastie was fairly visible, at least face to face. Should be a cool little statue/toy thingy.

WELL WHATDYA' KNOW...

Seems pretty cool to me. I'm not gonna' spoil anything here, but let me just say that even after you watch the movie, you're not gonna' really remember what the monster looks like because there are no REAL clear shots of it...and even when there are, it's really hard to make out the details in the beastly thing....so, there ya' go.

AWESOME!

I just ordered one, but it says it's not shipping until 09/30. That could change, but who knows. Either way, I thought it would be cool to own, so I put the order in now. If anyone else wants to order, use the PROMO CODE: CATCOM10 and you'll get 10% off ($10).
