... keep it together Owen!
by Sturdy

I always assume that any time I read gossip or news about celebrities that itís probably about 80% fabricated in order to sell papers or increase ratings. For all we know, Lindsay Lohan is a virgin and Tom Cruise is Jewish. But whenever I hear about an actor or actress involved in a near-death experience due to drugs or drinking, it bothers me. When Owen Wilson was going through his shit, I was worried for the guy. Now he has a new movie opening this weekend and is currently filming a likely hit in MARLEY AND ME and Iím glad heís still on top. But I want Owen to take care of himself so he can continue to find success in the movies.

Iím a big fan of Owen Wilson and I want him to make a lot more movies. Everything heís done with Wes Anderson is gold in my book. In fact DARJEELING LIMITED was one of my favorite movies of last year and Owen was a huge reason why. Heís a cool guy and even in his worst films (BIG BOUNCE), heís still a likeable guy thatís fun to watch. I could easily see Owen making the transition to serious drama at some point and hitting it out of the park. Heís got talent and I think itís only a matter of time before he gets that starring role in a dramatic film.

One of my favorite films of í07.

Before news broke of his suicide, I always thought of Owen as a cool party guy that basically tapped whatever Hollywood ass he wanted. For those of us that donít get to sleep with Playboy bunnies on a regular basis, he pretty much lived the dream life. Which is why it was surprising to most of us that he would attempt to end his life. He no doubt had other shit that impacted his life, but I think the image that he has means nothing to his fans. Personally, Iíll like the guy equally if he spends his weekends reading poetry or snorting coke off hookerís asses. At this stage in his career, heís already made it. He doesnít have to live the Hollywood life if he doesnít want to.

Not one of his better films.

I donít know how long it takes to get over trying to commit suicide. Thankfully, suicide really hasnít been a part of my life or anyone around me. It was reported that Owen supposedly attempted suicide and my fear is that he jumped back in the spotlight a little too quickly. I love his films and Iím excited about seeing him again, but itís more important that he get over whatever he had going on and get better. If fame, or the pressure of fame played a part in his situation, itís not going to get better starring in a popular book adaptation with Jennifer Aniston.

Owen with his new bitch.

Heath Ledgerís death was devastating for some fans and no one wants to go through that again. Owen seems to have a lot of friends in the business and millions of fans. So címon Owen, take your time getting back into the swing of things and take care of yourself. Your fans will still be there when you come back. Iím sure Iím not alone in saying that weíd rather go without you for a year if that meant keeping you around for the next 40 years or so.

I share your concern for him. We don't know him personally and don't know what's going on with him. However, it's a fact that only people severely depressed attempts suicide. Thank God he didn't succeed. I hope he's not being pressured to get back into working, but then, his work may be where he's happiest and the best thing for him. I think he's terrific and I feel for him. Whilst "Behind Enemy Lines" wasn't a great film, he proved in it that he's more than capable of doing serious work

I'd love to see him doing more dramatic stuff, as well. Your fans are behind you, Owen, all the way.

i adore owen wilson. he's a bright and charasmatic actor who has tons of potential. i'd love to see him in more serious intelligent roles. it hurts me to think that someone like him would get so low. his fans love him immmensely, and i want him to stick around for the long haul. just like the above said, we'll wait for him til he's ready.
