Columbia Pictures might send Colin Farrell to Mars for the remake of Total Recall

TOTAL RECALL was one of the first “WTF” movies I ever saw. It also introduced me to the concept of a woman/alien with three boobs.

Well just to throw it out there, TOTAL RECALL is being remade. This should be no surprise to you. But it looks like Colin Farrell is being considered for the lead. According to Heat Vision, Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender are on the list as well.

Len Wiseman (UNDERWORLD, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD) is the one directing the screenplay from Kurt Wimmer (SALT).

There’s not a lot of details on this one. Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 version was a loose adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s We Can Remember It for You Wholesale. It’s being said that Wiseman’s version will be a “contemporized remake” that will follow the short story more closely. They are also hoping to start in March 2011.

After watching IN BRUGES and jumping back on the Colin Farrell bandwagon, I’ll see the guy in anything. Except MIAMI VICE, which still scares me away everytime I see the DVD cover. However, I can’t say that I’m thrilled about a reboot of TOTAL RECALL.

Are you?
