Connelly on Earth

While I'm not exactly sold on the idea of remaking the cautionary sci-fi film THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, I will admit that Keanu Reeves as a visiting alien is at least inspired casting.

And now comes two more reasons to be interested: Jennifer Connelly. The brunette beauty joins Neo in the Fox flick, getting ready to land in Vancouver with THE EXORCIST OF EMILY ROSE director Scott Derrickson steering the spacecraft (which will no doubt get a snazzy overhaul).

As with the 1951 science fiction classic, the story involves an extraterrestrial (Reeves) and his lethal robot who warn Earth's denizens to cease their violent ways or risk extermination. Connelly plays a fine lookin' woman. Klaatu Barada Nikto!

Connelly is currently working with Scarlet Johansson, Jennifer Aniston and some male humans in the romcom HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU.
Extra Tidbit: In LABYRINTH, a 15-year-old Connelly had to deal with muppets, a smelly bog and a bewigged Bowie. Fortunately for all of us, she grew up just in time for THE HOT SPOT, THE ROCKETEER and CAREER OPPORTUNITIES.
