Connery vs. Eastwood? | Movie News As I recall, Sean Connery has mentioned that he has no intention of reprising his role as Indy's father in INDIANA JONES IV. Though I may be recalling incorrectly as the many twists and turns the development of this movie has taken are enough to make anybody's head spin. Either way, there's now a report that his saying yes depends on how much he responds to the script. "At the moment there's nothing decided. I haven't got the script. Everything depends on the script," he apparently told UK Teletext recently. And if you thought that was the wackiest INDY IV rumor going around, we also recently got word from schmoe T. Straka that he'd heard on entertainment program "Extra" that The Beard himself Steven Spielberg had offered…wait for it…Clint Eastwood a part in the film. No idea on who The Eastwood would be playing but it sure does present some interesting possibilities. A villain, perhaps? What do you guys think?

I think it's funny that Connery is unsure about whether or not he should sign on to a film being created by Speilberg and written by Koepp but he signed on to play the lead in The League of Extraordinary Gentleman.

I think it'd be cool if Eastwood played a character like Abner Ravenwood, Marion Ravenwood's father and Indy's mentor. Maybe she lied to Indy about him being dead or something. I dunno. I think it'd be cool.

maybe...
Maybe he meant Indy flicks as in "Indie" flicks. I mean...how could you not like the adventures of Dr. Jones?

As for this news...um...I still kind of wish that they weren't making a new flick.

Wow you don't like Indiana Jones or Clint Eastwood?
Let me guess, you're favorite movie is the Joy Luck Club?

Anyway this is pretty good news.
I hope Connery decides to come onboard.
At least he's giving it thought.

Going against the grain here.

I don't like Indy flicks.
I don't like Eastwood.

Now, sometimes two bad things together make a good thing. Unfortunately this is not one of those cases.

I can only hope
I would love to see Clint Eastwood in the new Indy Film. That would be great, perhaps playing a villain?
