Cool Videos: 12 minutes of people getting hit by buses

Feb. 5, 2013by: Alex Maidy

Do you remember that scene in MEAN GIRLS when Rachel McAdams gets slammed into by a bus? How can you forget it! I can think back to multiple movies that feature a character getting creamed by a piece of public transportation because it is a very indelible image. If handled correctly, it shocks you and burns that scene into your memory. if done poorly, it ends up like the ending to THE SMURFS.

This 12 minute supercut brings together a very comprehensive video of the most intense scenes of people delivering dialogue only to be smooshed by an oncoming bus. Not all of these are great movies, but these are definitely memorable scenes.

Not for the squeamish.

That compilation was actually entertaining and funny. Don't think me stupid; however, I had not noticed how much of a trope this gag is. Interestingly, the device is used often for both horrific and comedic effect. The reel forgot the Fantastic Four. However, the editor included many good ones. This clip needed to include Robocop, Taken, and the Scary Movies, and it did. The compiler remembered Stuck, Constantine, and Julia's Eyes. This video is a cool and funny one from around the web.

I'd throw Final Destination on that list of must haves as well, as that is probably one of the best hit-by-a-bus scenes ever.

Awesome

Some other good ones are in Breaking Bad when Walter flies in and runs over the two people trying to kill Jesse, the Agent getting hit by the subway in Matrix, and Will Ferrel getting hit by a taxi in Elf.

That was fun...
But where is Sam Raimi's gem
CRIME WAVE and its cult classic line
'Get exists and He's black' ?
Also, do you remember the hidden bonus on the FINAL DESTINATION 2 DVD, where they re-do every death of the film with a bus, as an homage to the first on ? That was so funny...

Ouch.
Editors who put supercuts together always have my respect. It's also interesting to see how different films handle the gore differently when the characters get hit by the vehicles. Since this also includes other vehicles however, I was hoping the scene from the Devil Wears Prada where Emily Blunt's character gets hit by a taxi would make it in.

Pure Gold!

Even funnier that so many were from dramas, and yet, they were unintentionally hilarious.

Not for me either....been having trouble with all the videos embedded on these main pages for about a week. The other parts of the website stream the videos fine, and if I go to YouTube I can watch it fine.

I posted about this in MFC forums, but Berge thinks it's just my browser cache. Unfortunately that didn't fix it.

I'm running on Firefox with Adobe Flash, but maybe there's an upgrade I'm missing. When I try on IE, I get this error message: "The Adobe Flash Player or an HTML5

When I try it in Google Chrome, it plays fine. Go figure.
