Yesterday saw the return of A LOT of people's childhood, as Saturday Night Live celebrated it's 40th year of syndication with more celebrities than you could shake a stick at, as well as the return of some classic skits.  There were some fantastic moment of nostalgia, but arguably the greatest return was that of Will Ferrell as Alex Trebek in Celebrity Jeopardy. There, he has to contend with the pure idiocy of Sean Connery (Darrell Hammond), Justin Bieber (Kate McKinnon), Tony Bennett (Alec Baldwin), Burt Reynolds (Norm Macdonald), Christoph Waltz (Taran Killam), Matthew McConaughey (Jim Carrey) and even Bill Cosby (Kenan Thompson). This is sure to take you back a few years!

You can check out Will Ferrell next in GET HARD, which hits theaters on March 27, 2015.

This was the highlight of the show! Especially when Burt showed up.

The Californians- Total misfire. They only did a few select skits, why did they choose this one to honor? Lame!
Tina and Amy- Let's face it, it's gonna happen no matter what. People go nuts and they only say a few lines.
Melissa McCarthy's Matt Foyle impression- Somewhere Chris Farley is shaking his head with shame.
Kayne West's performance- WHY?????
Eddie Murphy returns to SNL only to take us to a commercial- What was the point of having him there?

The whole 40th anniversary was disappointing

All of the people you wanted to see return and were advertised were only presenters.

Fuckin Eddie Murphy was there to have his ass kissed and nothing more. He couldn't do ONE sketch?!! Same with a lot of the other people who were there.

It was the biggest waste ever. Too many musical numbers too, Kanye West? Really? The show didn't have enough sketches. For 3 hours, it had the same number of sketches (maybe fewer) than a regular show.

Maybe I am easily amused, but I really liked it. It would have been better without Tony Bennet, Justin Beiber, and Christoph Waltz though. They should have stuck with Connery, Reynolds, and MM.

Wow. For such a great reoccurring sketch, a usually great guest performer, and a fairly easy common celeb impression, Jim Carrey as MM in True Detective mode made me tremble. He was really bad. I thought it was supposed to be RDJ at first.

Saw "WHO READS" coming from a mile away, but the other one was a pleasant surprise. Glad there were celebrity cameos and past references; sad that there was no Final Jeopardy this time around.
