Cool Videos: Conan premieres a boring clip from Star Trek Into Darkness and the first Star Trek gets an Honest Trailer

05.08.2013

Less than a week to go until the entire world gets to see STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS! Sure, the movie is already premiering in a lot of places this week with potential spoilers flying all over the place, but for now let us focus on the humor before all of our jaws hit the floor on May 16th. Here are two funny videos spoofing both the 2009 reboot and STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.

First up is an Honest Trailer for STAR TREK that shows us all of the foibles and lens flares that filled J.J. Abrams reintroduction of STAR TREK to the world. After that we get a brand new clip from the movie courtesy of Conan O'Brien's talk show that really shows how dry Benedict Cumberbatch can be. I mean, he is British, after all.

No matter what happens, I am looking forward to seeing if STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS matches the cool factor of the reboot. Hopefully we all finally learn who John Harrison is and put the argument to rest.

I like the Honest Trailers guys but this was a weak video. It came off as real ignorant when they said it was finally a watchable Star Trek film.

That Honest Trailer wasn't funny. I just smiled 2 or 3 times.

Except Nero wasn't waiting in space for 25 years but was captured by Klingon's and imprisoned on a prison colony, shortly after the destruction of the NCC Kelvin- when Nero's ship was incapacitated.

...what? Except it was actually in the movie... Yes, most was cut- but Nero states to Capt. Pike that he was captured and imprisoned for 25 years. And during that time, he planned out his revenge on Vulcan.

One problem: No one would know that unless they read all the behind-the-scenes stuff. What was onscreen to the average moviegoer: Nero waited for 25 years.

Not the entire world...

Korea won't be getting it for another two weeks. Soon it will be nearly impossible to dodge the spoilers...

I didn't think that one was as funny as some of the rest he's done. The lens flare joke has been done to death already although I did love the "tan mom" joke and the Star Wars demo reel joke.

The honest trailer was honest. They pointed out everything that sucked about that movie. They forgot to mention how JJ just changes stuff and replaces it with nothing. Lets give Spock emotions - ok, interesting where will JJ go with this - oh, hey just fights with Kirk and has a girlfriend. Great. That was JJ's big reason for giving Spock emotions - not so he could explore it, just so he could show us a fight.

Saw it and it is good!!,

I just saw it, and I tell ya what I have been waiting for the sequel to JJ's Star Trek since I was wowed in 2009.....and it delivers. You know that sort of hollow feeling you got after Iron Man 3, well that ain't here. Into Darkness is flat out excellent! Great twists and turns, the effects are amazing, especially the city shots of future San Fran (they were exceptionally well done for some reason) and a clever twist on a classic Trek story. Fantastic all round. Well done JJ, can't wait for

Trust me.....Star Wars VII is in safe hands!

Saw Into Darkness last night at a midnight IMAX screening and it is fantastic.
All the elements of Star Trek are there with less lens flares or shaky cam. Iron Man 3 may be the one to beat box office wise this Summer, but Star Trek is the one to beat entertainment wise.
