Cool Videos

How many movie references have been used in The Simpsons? Hundreds? Thousands? I don't have an actual figure for you, but there have been a lot since the show first started airing in 1989. The writers and creators of The Simpsons are pretty big film geeks, and their love for movies is really obvious in these two supercuts from NextMovie containing every movie reference from the first ten seasons of the hit show. The supercut for the first five seasons was released last week, but a new one has been made for seasons six through ten so I figured I'd post both of them here for those of you who haven't seen the first one.

I will warn you that since there has been a ton of movie references in The Simpsons each video is about twenty minutes long, but it's definitely worth it to revisit some of these classic episodes and scenes from the television series. The supercuts are also a fantastic (or painful) reminder of just how good The Simpsons used to be, and even today it is still very impressive how well the creators incorporated some of these movie references into the episodes.

Loved these seasons. I had tears in my eyes I laughed so hard the first time they aired the Radiers parody. Loved Homer at the end going, "Hooga booga booga!" with the rake in his hand.

I don't know if it's my favorite reference, but the Jurassic Park/Westworld "Itchy an Scratchy Land" is one of my all-time favorite episodes.

Always loved Bart reaching for those cupcakes in a Clockwork Orange rif.

I gotta go w/ that whole Cape Fear send-off episode w/ Sideshow Bob as my favorite.
