Cool Videos: Honest Trailer for Brad Pitt's World War Z

Sep. 18, 2013by:

Do you know what I don't understand? How people can get so butt-hurt over the Honest Trailers and the similar Everything Wrong videos. It's not like these are videos that mock serious issues that we face in the world today: they're about f*cking movies. And although I'm just as passionate about movies as the next geek, I don't take film so seriously that I feel like it's a personal attack on my movie taste if a video "slams" a movie I enjoy. Grow a funny bone people.

OK, rant over. Screen Junkies has another Honest Trailer, and this time they take aim at WORLD WAR Z starring Brad Pitt. Everything from the film's troubled production to how the book and the film are quite different are covered, and as always hilarity ensues. Enjoy.

"Wait, is that Matthew Fox?"

I'll give it to them but I still liked the film. It was fun to see a zombie film with this huge a scale and I am looking forward to the uncut extended version.

My favorite Honest Trailer? 2 so far, Iron Man 3 because they nailed everything I thought when I saw it and that's something those never do. And the one for The Dark Knight because it was soooo nitpicky and ended with "Who are we kidding, this movie is fucking awesome!" lol

When people confuse something they like being ridiculed for being directly ridiculed, and react as such - that's a telltale sign of shitty self-esteem.

I never read the book, so my opinion is unbiased. WWZ was fucking boring. It was exactly like Will Smith's I Am Legend. It was too clean and careful, and there's no real danger. Every scene and every action taken by the hero fit too neat and square so everything is 100% predictable, and there's never the remotest sense of tension. It was a cookiecutter movie.

This whole series kind of sucks. WWZ was pretty good for what it was although I get the criticism of not really having much to do with the source material. Speaking of which the book is overrated and hit and miss at best. If you want a pg13 zombie flick that spans several locations and aren't too hung up with cg zombies then wwz will be a hoot. If you want anything more than that, you'd be better off rewatching 28 days and 28 weeks Later. .

Despite the flaws. I found the film to be incredibly entertaining.

Zombies really hate it when you leave luggage in the aisle.

I was a fan of the book and it pissed off when I heard they pretty much changed EVERYTHING. Once I heard about the production problems, I figured the movie would be a complete disaster. But from not having anything to do with the book and all the problems on set, the movie was pretty good. Everything in this video is nitpicking but i still found it funny. The Matthew Fox thing was great. Kind of a waste of talent if you ask me.

That was reasonably entertaining even if I'm not usually a fan of these videos (I prefer parodies like How It Should Have Ended and Hi I'm a Marvel and I'm a DC). I have not read the book, but the description of things in it that the film left out does make it sound over-the-top awesome.
