Cool Videos: It took five performers to bring Deadpool's Colossus to life

I'm still somewhat amazed at how well DEADPOOL is performing all over the world, and all without Cialis, but everyone seems to be loving Ryan Reynolds' avocado faced mutant. Deadpool isn't the only memorable character in his own film, Colossus of The X-Men also pops by to get involved in Deadpool's shenanigans and it took an awful lot of effort by the folks at Digital Domain to realize this very different rendition of the character. Wired has released a VFX breakdown which gets into just how Colossus was brought to life as well as how many performers it took to complete the character.

DEADPOOL is currently playing in theaters.

So cool to see and I loved the way this movie portrayed colossus both in look and personality. He was the straight man of the comedic duo and he better come back for the sequel. How many Xmen movies and it takes a Deadpool movie to get both Colossus and Deadpool right. Amazing, this movie did the few mutants it had in it SUCH justice. If I had one minor complaint about his look, he wasn't shiny enough. He appeared kind of almost gun metal greyish to me, as opposed to silver. He needs to be

I know why they did it, it was cheaper. If he was much shinier and lighter, they'd have to show a lot more reflection mapping in it, which ads time and man hours and hence more $$$. Dull him up and he reflects less. Hopefully with the bank this pulled in, he'll get a polish job next movie, and yeah I'm sure DP would have turned what I said into 10 different jokes lol.

More continuity issues!!!

Why is Colosuss in Days of Futures Past half the size, half as young, and way more shinny as Colosuss in Deadpool? The one and only continuity they have is Hugh Jackman.

Just watched it again today....

I have to say that Colossus is one of my favorite parts of the movie. Deadpool isn't nearly as funny when the big guy isn't in the scene (notice how flat his jokes were during his experimentation or with TJ Miller). The reason he works so great there is that the character of Colossus is such a boy scout (literally scolding him for language just after he's killed 12 bad guys). He was also a complete badass during the fights (even though he gave up his advantage several times trying to be

Everything about the film was good, but I especially loved the two X-Men. They were such a refreshing change from the over-serious characters we've come to expect from that franchise. I hope they bring both back in future movies.

It's amazing how perfectly they portrayed Colossus in this as oppose to ANY of the X-Men films.
