Jim Henson fans, prepare yourself for some sweet childhood nostalgia.

Below we have a 15-minute, 1969 segment from Iowa Public Television's "Volume See" program featuring Muppet maestro Jim Henson in rare footage, showing us easy ways to make our very own Muppets using items around our very own homes.

But much more than that, it's a fascinating glimpse at the man responsible for many of our childhood's favorite characters and icons. And I gotta admit, it's bittersweet hearing Kermit the Frog in Henson's own voice as he speaks. It's a wonderful little video, and perhaps especially so now if you have children of your own to share it with.

If you see a cool video online you think would be perfect for this spotlight, drop us a line at yourvideos@joblo.com.

Another Dead Hero
Henson is a genius! I'd never really noticed how much his normal speaking voice, at times, sounds like the voice used for Kermit the Frog. Kind of like how Seth McFaland sounds like Brian. As far as my favorite muppet ... as a child it was always Animal, but I would have to go with Gonzo the Great. Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat as a comedy duo are just awesome together.

Henson's world had such influence on me as a child. I remember the day he died my mother brought me outside to show me a rainbow in the sky...
