Cool Videos: Mad Max: Fury Road is still just as thrilling without effects

It's been well over a year since the release of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, but the George Miller film is still every bit as impressive to me as it was that first time in a packed theater. As the flick took in the most wins at our own 15th Annual Golden Schmoes, it's probably safe to say that many of you feel the same. One of the reasons we love it so much is that Miller and his team only turned to CG when absolutely necessary, and even when they did make use of visual effects, it was pretty much seamless. A new video from ESPORTS TV set out to prove this by gathering up raw footage from pre-production tests and behind-the-scenes to show off just how exciting those FURY ROAD action sequences were even without the benefit of visual effects.

I loved this movie, and seeing this just made me love it even more. The practical effects and camera work in Fury Road were amazing. I think I am going to have to watch this again as soon as I get home!

Simply amazing. Love all the camera angles and sequences he used for all of these actual car chases and explosions.
Saying that, watching this makes me so angry in regard how directors nowadays do not use practical effects like so many of the great action films have. Watching this clearly shows that cgi should refine what your imagination wants a scene to look like. Just not completely on a green screen, which the viewer can obviously pick out whats not real.

Mad respect for this movie

I really liked it, but I didn't go nuts over this movie. That said, I 100% respect how Miller did this movie and it made so much difference. Everything felt real and that made the stakes feel even more daring. I wouldn't have minded if he won director...hell, I thought he should've.
