Cool Videos: Mavel vs. DC infographic and Inception Explained! Plus, Batman vs. Wolverine!

Sep. 28, 2012by:

So, technically these aren't videos, but some really sweet infographics that require your attention.  Don't worry, though, as I've added a cool video at the tail end to satiate some of your Marvel vs. DC live action fantasies.  First up is a rather involved look at the box office numbers between Marvel and D.C., which supplies an interesting look at a very close race, especially with the mega success of THE AVENGERS and THE DARK KNIGHT.

Click below to check it out:

Next up is a really involved flash-style web graphic for Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION, which attempts to explain the dream-within-a-dream process without confusing the shit out of you.  I don't know that I feel that much more enlightened, but it's really cool nonetheless.

Click the image to view the site:

And lastly, as promised, is a well-made Batman vs. Wolverine scrap, courtesy of Super Power Beat Down.  Surprisingly cool effects and choreography.  The Wolverine mask is proof positive that if these guys can pull it off, Hollywood has no excuse.

Place your bets:

The FACTS

Fact is BATMAN would never be unprepared against any opponent. BATMAN has stated in the past that he has extensive files on not only DC but MARVEL as well. YES, BATMAN beats The WOLVERINE every time( I love Wolverine), but its just true. I think the only foes BATMAN could fall to our DARKSEID, THANOS, GALACTUS, APOCALYPSE, and ODIN. Even then it's still unsure. If you think for one min that BATMAN hasn't forged adamentium weapons and neutralizers then your kidding yourself.

Not sure about the Batman vs. Wolverine ending, especially after watching Batman: The Dark Knight Returns pt 1.
Batman would've figured out how to incapacitate Wolverine's hands first and foremost.
'This is an operating table, and I am the surgeon."

Well duh, of course Wolverine wins. He cannot be killed, period. In that regard he's even more powerful then Superman, who has weaknesses. Wolverine has NO weaknesses. The most Batman can do is use up all his tricks and gadgets, but Wolvie will always come back.

Infographic flaws

Loved the concept of the infographic but to quibble...every single 'Vertigo' film is actually DC. So add in Constantine, V for Vendetta, Stardust, Losers, Watchmen, League of Extroidanary Gentlemen, AND through other DC owned imprints...Road to Perdition, History of Violence, RED, and The Spirit. At that point DC wins by a mile

I still can't believe Steel had his own movie - and how bad it was.

Howard the Duck could get a reboot, and Man-Thing could join him. Those two team-up often enough in the comics. The film could have sexpot sorceress Jennifer Kale show-up too. I would see that movie. It would beat the duckdroppings out of another Garfield Spider-Man; I'll tell you that. The existing Howard the Duck and Man-Thing movies trump The Amazing Spider-Man already. Both of them are at least true to their source material.

cool little video.

Nice to see that not everyone is on Batman's nuts. I honest believe that Wolverine would win i a fight. Now im not a big Wolverine fan, hes way over exposed, im more a spiderman fan, anyways. If you want a good fight, Batman Vs. Black Panther ( that would be a great fight, i honestly don't know who would win, but i hope it be B.P.) Superman Vs. The Sentry, both are super powerful, and how about Bane Vs Venom. Those are acouple that i would like to see, i already drawn certain characters

Extra Tidbit

I've heard a lot of people saying that the Howard the Duck movie we know is a poor representation of the character and that a movie done right could be really good.

However

It's still Howard the freakin' Duck. Are studio executives really sitting around trying to decide what the next $150 million budget comic book movie is and think Howard the Duck is the best option? This is how i imagine a studio meeting going...
Exec1:Gambit, Deadpool, Black Panther, Doctor Strange? Those are lame

Exec1:Gambit, Deadpool, Black Panther, Doctor Strange? Those are lame comic book comic book characters, people dont want to see that. They wanna see a talking duck solve crime
Exec2: Didnt we try that back in the 80s? it got panned by critics and considered one of the worst movies?
Exec1: This time will be different, it'll be darker. It's got a large devoted fan base
Exec2: well it has a devoted fan base, but i wouldnt call them a large group of people. You can really make the arguement that there are more fans of individual X-Men than Howard
Exec1: we can't cater to just the comic book fans, we also need this movie to appeal to the average theater goer
Exec2: And a talking duck appeals to the average theater goer?
Exec1: yes. and played by Adam Sandler

Seriously, some of these characters are awesome and all, but studios might want to prioritize main stream books before trying risky cult favorites. Spawn, Ghost Rider, and Hellboy all came out before Iron-Man. I'm no comic book expert, but i'm pretty sure Iron-Man is the more popular character in that group, with cartoon series and tons of spin-offs. It's baffling it took so long to get an Iron-Man movie (though if it did come out earlier, we might not of had the Avengers universe like we do now, anyway you get the point)

That fight sequence is pretty sick I really enjoyed that. Dont really agree with how it went down but it makes no differance. Good job to those guys that made that. Also I agree with what "LelekPL" said that you dont need an chart to follow inception, if you actually watched and listened through out the film its pretty simple to follow.

For the tidbit I'd be interested in a Howard the duck film, he's a wicked character that totally was murdered and butchered for the film. Take it right

Just stop

Inception was not that complicated. Why do we need an iconographic to explain a movie in which most of the dialogue was explanations and exposition?
