COOL VIDEOS: Snubbed 2012 - An Oscar Tribute

02.27.2012

Somewhere in between The Peoples Choice Awards, and the Academy Awards lies the realm of what the film fans and movie goers REALLY want to see awarded (kind of like our very own GOLDEN SCHMOES awards -- see those winners HERE).

Post-Oscar week can be an emotional time for movie-lovers who have had to sit through and see our beloved DRIVE go unnoticed. Of course everyone will have their personal tastes, and while the Oscars do sometimes get things right, we want to spend some time and look at the films that us at JoBlo would have like to have seen get some sweet-statueqsue lovin.

This is typical of hollywood. Sadly the academy has always consisted on a 2 girls 1 cup diet from kissing the backsides of select individuals. Thats why often times they seem to be so full of it especially when so many better deserving movies get snubbed.

No Razzie either

Well, Drive went unnoticed by the Razzies, too. That part I still don't understand.

Could not agree more with most of those, especially Drive and Warrior which were my two favourite films of last year. And Senna is one of the best documentaries ever made, how it was missed out I'll never understand.

Warrior

Glad to see Warrior get some love as IMO it was the best movie last year. I would maybe move Tom Hardy to best actor, but the snubbed best actor category is so packed I dont mind him in the supporting category even though its packed as well. Good video.

Shallow Nominees

By giving awards to a gimmick such as The Artist, the Academy showed just how shallow their choices can be with the absolutely worst group of nominations they’ve every thrown together. Because of such an elitist tone, I for one boycotted the show this year. If you found the nominees as stuffy as I did, check out the Top 10 Movie Picks of 2011 at [link] where you won’t see a single of the Academy’s nominees for Best Picture but you will get some movie artwork I drew up as well as the reviews! On the downside, you can no longer nominate Drive, or a Harry Potter film for anything.

But on the upside, Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc., still have chance to win in the future.

Thanks Shaun!

@Old Prospector: For those of us who love DRIVE and think it was robbed, the last part was for us.

Pointless, classy, and gets it right until it gets to Drive.
