I am quite pleased to hear that THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is doing so well. But where would we be without Sam Raimi's original trilogy?

One of my favorite YouTubers, Kees van Dijkhuizen has put together an excellent video taking us back to all three of Raimi's SPIDER-MAN films. The only one I didn't want to get so nostalgic about was the third installment. Check it out below along with Dijkhuizen's description.

"The superhero genre wouldn't be what it is today were it not for Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. The trilogy brought the hero to the screen like we'd never seen before and is one of the landmarks in American film. With the release of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man, it's time to celebrate one of the most amazing trilogies ever to hit the screen. This reel highlights key moments from all three films in the trilogy, so be wary of spoilers if you haven't seen them all."

That was great. Even though Spidey 3 was a disappointment, I will always love Raimi's trilogy. I can remember like it was yesterday sitting in the theater opening day of Spider-Man on May 3rd 2002 as a freshmen in high school. Watching a character I've always loved come to life on the big screen in such a wonderful way, it made me appreciate movies in a way I never knew.

Tomorrow I'll be seeing the reboot, and I'm looking forward in getting lost in another great film based on this great

Say what you will about the third film, but Raimi's Spider-man trilogy is one of the better trilogies of movies IMO. Even if the new film is good, I will always secretly wish we would have got a Spider-man 4.

Beautiful

Too bad the 3rd move was so horrible....otherwise wonderful first 2 films in the series. I will always treasure those 2.

Amazing

Raimi's trilogy has charm, decent plots and interesting villains. The new one had great actors but the characters and villain fell flat.

After seeing the new Spidey today, I can say its light-yrs ahead of the original trilogy. Garfield blows away Tobey's spidey and Emma Stone is brilliant. I don't think I can ever go back and re-watch them. I appreciate the original in the sense of what it did for superhero movies all over, but Amazing is simply Amazing.
