Cool Videos: (SPOILERS) Viewer reactions to Game of Thrones "Red Wedding" episode is awesome

06.03.2013

Obvious SPOILER WARNING here, so let yourself be warned.

Last night I sat with my wife and watched the latest episode of Game of Thrones with bated breath. Having read the books, I knew The Red Wedding was imminent and that it would be epic. My heart was pounding every second that it grew closer and closer. It's one of the moments you don't ever want to spoil for someone, but now that it's been shown and the Internet is on fire with it, the cat is out of the bag. There wasn't as much screaming or yelling in my household over it, but there was definitely some lively and emotional reactions to what transpired and this video captures them beautifully. Reliving the moment is kind of exhilerating for us fans and seemingly heartbreaking for those who never saw it coming, so this video may be great or horrible for you.

Either way, it's a testament to the sheer awesomeness that is HBO's Game of Thrones and if you've never seen it and watch this video it may well compel you over to the world of Westeros. I'm still reeling from seeing the episode last night and that is an exceptional thing. Bravo to the showrunners.

Get your heart broken all over again:

HBO's Game of Thrones, season 3 debuts it's final episode of the season on Sunday, June 9th.

This is Greek Tragedy

I have seen a lot of T.V series in my life but Game of Thrones in my opinion is one of the best T.v series. The episode 9 , Red Wedding, took the series to another level. All the actors in these series are doing amazing job. The Red wedding episode i was so shocked that after the credits i was just holding my head and thinking what the f... just happen. I was also very angry to the people who are responsible for what just happen ( i would give anything to send a regard message to the lannisters

Anyway its amazing t.v series and looking forward for the season finale.

Well Im catching up on the season, just finished ep 5, but I threw my copy of the book against the wall when I read this chapter. I don't think anything I've read has pissed me off so much, I'm glad its translating to the show just as effectively.

You know what fuck people!

I'm going to go off on a tangent here. Why can't I be a fan of a television show even though I haven't read the books? This is such "geek elitist" bullshit. Why are you better than me because you have read one FUCKING series of books that I haven't? Sure books are generally better than the filmed material because the writer has the room to stretch his legs and allow plots and characters to breath. But douche nozzles like "smooveluv" find themselves to be some kind of weird, superior being

Sure books are generally better than the filmed material because the writer has the room to stretch his legs and allow plots and characters to breath. But douche nozzles like "smooveluv" find themselves to be some kind of weird, superior being because they have read a series of books that are the basis for a show I love. Go suck a dick you slob, I am fed up with being told I am inferior because I haven't read a book but enjoy the show it is based on. This type of elitist bullshit is why fanboys and geeks have such a hard time getting along! Let each person enjoy their entertainment without looking down your nose with a false sense of superiority. This isn't a very polite post and for that I am sorry but I am absolutely exhausted by the constant barrage of "well you're an idiot because I have read this book and I knew what was coming"! Go floss with my dingleberries and read all the books you want, I haven't had the time to read 4,000-5,000 pages worth of books. I appoligize to all the true "Game of Throne" fans that I am living a hectic life that doesn't afford me enough time to quickly read such a dense series of books. If that makes me a dunce in your eyes so be it but your exclusionary tactics when it comes to a fucking piece of ENTERTAINMENT makes you look like a complete fucking asshole. Rant Ended!

Meh

I have friends who are obsessed with the show, and the books even. I got through season 1. Thought it was pretty good. Then mid way through Season 2 and became completely uninterested and bored. I don't understand the obsession.

Thumbs down, like winter, are coming

I just find ridiculous. You have all of these people so invested in a show that they would react this strongly, but yet refuse to read the books, despite even bigger fans assuring them that the books are, in every way, better than the (admittedly entertaining and very good) television counterpart.

Look, if you are meh on the series, I can totally get not reading the books. But this is a bunch of clips of people who clearly are "OMG I really loooooove Game of Thrones" - just not enough to

And if you read the books and were just as shocked and horrified - you're the exception, not the rule. People who have read the series were waiting with baited anticipation, as with other awesomeness yet to come. That was pure satisfaction - especially seeing that (SPOILER ALERT) HBO didn't soft-pedal it too much.

I am reading each book only after the associated season ends, so that I can watch events unfold blissfully unaware of what's going to happen. It's just the way I roll; I love moments like this being a total shock and believe me this knocked me for six (though I hope I didn't react like the muppets in this video).

For me, I will always remember this episode, and I'm glad I had no prior knowledge of it by already having read the book. Now I look forward to reading the first book of a SoS and

That's just my choice and the way I like to do things; I don't think you should condemn everyone for not having read the books and just enjoying the series on face value. Books aren't for everyone.

Conrad: my comments aren't directed at you. They are directed at people who emotionally invest themselves so deeply in a television show, that they fell apart into histrionics during the red wedding scene... but don't care quite so much as to read the books. That just smacks of melodrama.

To be more specific: this is directed at people who "love" the fictional world of Westeros so much that they cry like they are drunk at the scene, but still can't be moved to read the books.

I knew what was coming, and I was hugging my own head throughout the entire thing.

New rule: When you hear Rains of Castamere (the Lannister song the band starts playing) treat it like 'Dueling Banjos' and run for your goddamn life.

Best Part

As somebody that has never read the books my reaction was screaming WHAT THE FUCK as each event unfolded. The best part of the scene was the guy locking the door, the weird, sad music the band began to play, finally culminating in Catelyn noticing the chainmail. It was a beautifully constructed scene and perhaps one of the top-5 most shocking moments in scripted television history.

This was just brutally beautiful. If that is something that can be. Like what I witness was amazing and so epic. ok the

AMAZING!

One of the most powerful pieces of television I've ever seen. Having no music over the credits made it even more powerful!
I love this video. I went through each emotion as well!

The episode was just heart breaking to watch. The words crazy and insane rang though my mind when I saw it. This is by far the best show on TV today.

Amazing episode

I have never reacted to something like that on television. My reaction was not as crazy as some of these people but my jaw was open throughout the whole end credits. I couldn't stop thinking about the whole scene at work today.

Filming a reaction to an original TV show on a random event, that would be sad. Someone who has read the books and is watching the show with those who don't know what's going to happen, then filming those reactions, nothing wrong with it. Really not sure why you think it's sad. While some in this generation are of the "look at me type," I'm not sure how that affects a generation as a whole based upon a dozen or so reactions to one pivotal moment to one incredibly popular show.

Actually you are clearly mistaken - it would be more of the "look at my friend, spouse, wife, gf, bf, sister or whomever" generation.

For you to be correct, they would need to randomly film themselves and post the spontaneous reactions they have on the internet.
