Cool Videos: Stars react to Star Wars VII news, featuring Joss Whedon, Mila Kunis, Jason Statham and more!

Mar. 12, 2013by: Paul Shirey

The rumor machine of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is a vicious beast that is tearing through the Interwebs, which was to be expected. Everyone from top to bottom has seemingly been rumored to have some kind of involvement at one point or another and the question has rolled off of interviewers tongues everytime an actor, actress, or filmmaker has been put in front of them, like clockwork, asking the same basic comment; "Would you?"

Being the hottest project on the books, the casting of the next trilogy, including potential filmmakers for sequels or spinoffs is a source of great debate and speculation. With so much unconfirmed, we're all left to our own imaginations, which makes for some compelling possibilities. As such, Total Film has made a compilation of reactions from various stars and filmmakers, giving their two cents on whether or not they'd like to be a part of the burgeoning STAR WARS universe or not. There are some hilarious (and cringe-worthy) reactions from the likes of Joss Whedon, Jason Statham, Eli Roth, Nicholas Hoult, Jai Courtney, Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Williams, and Melissa McCarthy.

Enjoy:

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is set to blow up the world sometime in 2015 (or 2016).

Extra Tidbit: Mark Strong needs to be cast in the movie immediately. Doesn't matter who he plays. Just cast him.

There is a young Aussie actor by the name of Luke Mitchell from a show called Home and Away ( the same show that gave us Melissa George, Chris Hemsworth, Isla Fisher and Jay Laga'aia) he would be perfect for a young Luke Skywalker or the son of. The guy can act too.

I wonder if Statham is not a fan of sci/fi movies after being in Ghost of Mars.

Actually an actor like Jason Statham would ground a Star Wars film in the same way Harrsison Ford did. I think they need actors like him to make it as emmersive as the original trilogy. Maybe even a Bruce Willis.Gritty no nonsense type characters. The prequels were too Playschool.

of course Jai Courtney isn't a Star Wars fan, he's not a fan of acting or being in good movies either. and Mila Kunis just went from the 'marry' to either the 'fuck' or 'kil'l. Mark Strong would be a great SITH LORD!

I can understand why statham would be none too eager to do another scifi movie. After his mistake of working with uwe boll its no surprise he would be not interested in repeating a potential miscast mistake like that one. As for Eli Roth, I think he should do a star wars horror movie about the sarlack. Maybe have a lost civilization on tatooine that was consumed slowly by the emergence of a giant sarlack.

Okay Mila Kunis loves Star Trek more especially The Next Generation. I'm going out to buy a ring.

This was funny, but what are the chances that anyone who was involved in this is actually casted.

One actor I could see Abrams giving a role to is Kyle Chandler.

I'm going to print that last photo so I can set fire to it then piss on what's left.

Also 100% agree on Mark Strong but I want him to be a powerful Jedi on the good side.

Also a special kudos to Statham for giving an honest opinion.
