You could spend your entire day running through the critiques levied against Zack Snyder's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE since the film was released. Some are perfectly justified and make for interesting discussions about the movie and Warner Bros. initial direction for the DC Cinematic Universe. Others are just piling on for the sake of hating on the damn thing.

One such point of contention deals with Batman's body count throughout the film. Now there are ways to take issue with his level of violence in BVS that give you a leg to stand on... and then there are others that come across as fanboy whining that Batfleck wasn't exactly the vision for Batman you had concocted in your head for this particular film. In the end, Snyder made the film he wanted, with Warner Bros. blessing, and Batman killed some bad guys. You may not like it, but there's no changing it. What's done is done.

But how many people did Batman indeed wipe out in BATMAN V SUPERMAN? Have you ever counted? If not, don't sweat it. Mr. Sunday Movies saved you the trouble and ran a tally with a little help from some familiar faces within Christopher Nolan's Bat-verse. Now, while every potential victim isn't shown to die in DAWN OF JUSTICE, it's safe to assume that when a car full of people is jettisoned onto another car full of people, no one is walking out of that okay.

I think the problem is if he seems to kill indiscriminately. Without some kind of "no killing" rule his "no guns" rule becomes a bit silly. It would be like saying that I'd never punch my wife, but I'd hit her with a bat, a hammer, etc, but I wouldn't use my fists, so that I have the moral high ground.

"I'll brand a criminal to have someone else kill them, I'll blow them up, crush them, beat them to death with my metal-knuckled gloves, stab them, ram them with my gattling-gun equipped

"I'll murder Superman; I'll gas him, make a mechanical suit to beat him senseless and then stab him to death with a spear that I've fashioned from Robin's spear/axe and a material that might kill Superman by mere proximity. I'm not like that rotten Joker, who might stoop to using a gun in his elaborate death-traps."

Funny video, it's always strange to me how Billy Donnelly seems to love invalidating the critiques of others. The truth is, you don't need a good reason to dislike a movie, it's a personal and subjective thing. It's fine if you like it, and it's fine if you didn't like it. In matters of art, everyone is allowed to feel as they like.

I feel like most people don't understand Batmans

Batman has never said "I will not kill anyone" what he won't do is murder someone or PASS JUDGEMENT. His real rule is "No Guns". Something that people confuse with his no kill rule. Nolans Batman explained it BEST in Batman Begins...."I am no executioner" "This man should be tried" "I will go back to Gotham and I will fight...but I will not become an executioner" Batman will catch and stop criminals. But he WONT pass judgement on them. He is not judge jury and executioner.

Batman accepts

Batman accepts that his accidents may result in collateral damage of bad guys. If he didn't he would NEVER drive his Batmobile for fear of killing someone in a crash. Or he would never hit anyone in the face to prevent the risk of someone getting a brain bleed from a concussion or what not.

Take notice in BvS when he shoots the car with the chain gun. He's not shooting the guy, he's shooting out the bottom of the car and well it blows up. Oh well. Also, that guy who drops the Grenade that he was going to kill Batman with? well oh well. His own damn fault. What is Batman supposed to do? Catch it and disarm it? or wait till the bad guy has thrown it and cleared the danger area and then incapacitate him?

Yes this Batman is way way way way more reckless and more people die through his actions. But to complain about his no kill rule is to not understand BATMAN as a character and to not understand this movie.

Yes, you're the only person who understands Batman. Your understanding of Batman seems to go out of the way to justify Snyder's crappy film, but what do I know, you're the only one who understands Batman.

I also find it funny they include the "Knightmare" kills, considering they, at present time, did not happen. So those people aren't dead YET, or may never be if the future is saved from Darkseids wrath.

Also, some of those things people "could" have survived, probably crippled for life but could survive. I would say maybe 5 people were killed, minus dumbass that goes to grab a LIVE GRENADE!! That's just Darwinism. Hell the Batmobile that crashes through the truck, that's the guy Bats does

That's just Darwinism. Hell the Batmobile that crashes through the truck, that's the guy Bats does kill later to save Martha, so he survived, for the time being, but that part doesn't qualify a "kill" for that scene. You can't use him twice.

He's certainly more violent in this film, but he's also been Batman probably a good decade longer than Bales version whom also likely had killed people, accidental or not. The Tumbler tumbling over car, damaging rooftops, is just as effective to crush someone as BvS batmobile crashing into cars.

Side note: Why does no one bring up TDKR bomb that most likely pollutes Gothams harbour and water supply? I mean, the fallout and aftermath of that MUST have some future impact. Gotham folk spend years slowly dying as He and Selena are off far away from fallout. Just saying. He may not have directly dropped the bomb on the people, he did build it, activate it, and didn't disarm it. He let it blow over water that would likely be contaminated for a great many many many years.

But, he does pass judgment on Superman. He does try to murder him. He even uses guns in his plans. He IS judge, jury and executioner when it comes to Superman. His "no gun" policy should be referred to as his "no guns, unless I need one... Or have one" policy.
