JoBlo Cool Videos Empire Strikes Back

While the opening title sequence is definitely still around, we don't see it pop up in films as often as we used to. One franchise which has kept that tradition alive throughout the years is the James Bond series, and many fans have used the James Bond style in order to create title sequences for other films. New York City’s School of Visual Arts student Kurt Rauffer recently shared his semester long project, a title sequence for THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK whose style of tone were inspired by the James Bond title sequences. Kurt used the rejected Radiohead song from SPECTRE as he "really wanted to play on the concept of Luke trying to find himself and true purpose, so the music and inspiration felt fitting."

Check it out!

Kurt said "growing up in the 90s where Star Wars was released on VHS, the franchise really sparked my imagination as a child. It not only let me exercise my imagination but also supplied me with some of the happiest memories as I watched it with my family. After re-watching "The Empire Strikes Back," I decided to use this as a chance to create a homage in the form of a title sequence." It's definitely a very cool sequence and I'd love to see the rest of the STAR WARS flicks get this treatment.

Great fun, only the credits are not in James Bond fashion.

Awesome video. Clever and very well done.
However, the credits are not in the James Bond order. The movie title should be at the beginning, not at the very end. Also it should read in this fashion:
"Twentieth Century Fox & Lucasfilms LTD. presents"
"Mark Hamill"
"as George Lucas' Luke Skywalker in"
"Star Wars Episode VII: The Empire Strikes Back"
I only say this because the video is really good and very professional, and it seems odd the credits do not flow the same way as they do in

Really cool video. Very well done and fitting as both a James Bond-style intro and for Star Wars. On a side note, I had no idea Radiohead did a Spectre theme. Why the hell was it rejected? This song was far better than the one Sam Smith made. I can't believe they rejected in favor of the garbage that was used.

Funny, I knew Radiohead was originally selected before Sam Smith, but I had no idea they recorded a song for the film. Radiohead was probably rejected by the studio under the idea that Sam Smith's popularity and appealing to young audiences would be more profiting. Most of the time, shit moves like this are more for profiting reasons than for reasons of creativity and talent.

That was really cool. He did a good job.

I can't believe Radiohead did a song for Spectre, and it was rejected!?! I bet that's a first for them. Anybody know what it's called?
