As just a youngster, even before I saw a Tattooine farmboy oppose the Empire's oppressive reign, my imagination was sparked by witnessing dinosaurs, skeletons and other astonishing fantastical creatures flicker to life on a big ol' radiation-emitting TV set. This was the wondrous work of stop-motion animation pioneer Ray Harryhausen, who undoubtedly and single-handedly spawned an appreciation for cinematic spectacle in several generations of movie lovers.

In celebration of the groundbreaking, beloved virtuoso's recent 91st birthday (!!), have a look at his immortal imagery assembled in this collection of all the various mythological, extraterrestrial, underwater and unreal beings created during his masterful career.

AMAZING

I wished they would go back and make a movie like this again. :) I loved most of those films, and they even stand up to, todays measures. :) Yeah their laughable as shit, but they are still awesome, and the time and stuff they put into it. Can't go wrong there.
