Cool Videos: This supercut spoils the endings of 250 different movies

03.05.2014

If I hear one more person bitch and moan about spoilers on movie websites, I am going to lose my shit. If you are venturing to a site you should be prepared that if you have not seen a movie, recent or older, that there is a very high likelihood that you are going to learn plot details or elements that could ruin the film. Any self-respecting movie fan knows that you take your fate in your own hands when it comes to spoilers and the world wide web.

That being the case, please be careful if you decide to watch the video below. Not only does it spoil movies but it spoils a whole lot of them. Two hundred and fifty to be exact. Using the IMDb Top 250 as his canvas, Vimeo user AtrEdits proceeds to ruin each and every one of them. And it is glorious.

For some of us, seeing these are reminders of great twists and surprises from film history while others may look and cry foul. Either way, consider this list to be a master class supercut in how powerful movies have entertained us for years and years.

IMDB Top 250 All Movie Endings from AtrEdits on Vimeo.

Extra Tidbit: Only movies released through July 4, 2011 made the supercut, so the fact that Ben Kingsley is not The Mandarin in IRON MAN 3 is still a surprise. Oh, wait...

The author's contention that this video contitues a "master class super cut" further solidifies my opinion that the author of this "article" has poor judgement and taste when it comes to a rational assessment of the history of cinema or of editing in general. Furthermore, in the first paragraph of this "article" the author comes off as a condescending arrogant a-hole. Go on, lose your shit. I'd LOVE to see that.

Alex, other than the first paragraph making me want to punch you, the video is pointless.

Rather like the rest of your 'articles'.

It's a clever conceit ruined by the sped-up video. It's a wise-ass version of what spoilers are, equating them to how a movie ends. It also made me dizzy. Not worth pressing play over.

The video is pointless, but the first paragraph of this article is spot on.

There were so many problems with this video. The clips didn't flow together well, and the audio, which is so important to any video, was very distracting. Not only was it annoying to hear everything sped up, but it all changed so abruptly. This was such a lazy edit, no creativity in execution. It's not hard to look up the top 250 on IMDb and just take the last few seconds of each movie as is, sped up slightly. A more clever idea, if your purpose is to irk those who complain about spoilers,

It's not hard to look up the top 250 on IMDb and just take the last few seconds of each movie as is, sped up slightly. A more clever idea, if your purpose is to irk those who complain about spoilers, would be to take audio snippets that spoil the movie, a line that gives away the ending. Then, try editing it in a way that doesn't feel like simply flipping through channels.

The only thing that kept me interested was trying to figure out what each ending was for.

i kept trying to slow it down...annoying

this video is crap, thanks. the speed is annoying, the clips are sometimes cut off so its not even the real "ending" and each is so short, theres nothing to spoil. I fart in your general direction.

1-2 second out of context scenes isn't even close to being a spoiler. This video sucks, and just wasted my time. BOOOOO! BOOOOOO!!!!

Hardly spoiler'ish, you wouldn't have a clue unless you seen the movie, more than half the time I was trying to figure out what movie it was.

I literally burst out laughing at Cobb's comment below lol!

Probably the WORST video posted on joblo.com

Not only because its just the last shots (questionably) of movies and doesnt really spoil anything, but because there are TONS of mistakes in it. For example Pippin asking where they are going? Thats not the end of Fellowship but rather the end of the first disc. And why is everything playing fast forward? It seems the author just posted this to piss people off because he has his own issues with people complaining of spoilers. Yes we come to a movie website to learn about new movies and there

Yes we come to a movie website to learn about new movies and there is the risk of being spoiled from time to time, but generally in my experience. Coming here is usually a (true) spoiler free zone while I learn details and tidbits of movies I want to see.
