Cool Videos: Tim Daly and Kevin Conroy battle it out as the voices of Superman and Batman

Nov. 14, 2013by: Alex Maidy

While it can be argued that the big screen casting for Zack Snyder's BATMAN VS SUPERMAN is as contentious as any superhero movie, we can all agree that the voice actors best associated with the DC heroes, Tim Daly and Kevin Conroy, are without equal. In fact, many have looked at the animated Batman and Superman series as some of the best incarnations of the characters.

For his web series The Daly Show, Tim Daly and his son Sam have recruited Kevin Conroy for a surreal episode that teases BATMAN VS SUPERMAN and the immortal quote from The Dark Knight Returns that Zack Snyder and Harry Lennix used to unveil the movie at this year's Comic Con. Watching this video makes me badly want both of these men to dub the voices for Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.

In the end, the video is kind of goofy, but it is a fun little tribute to MAN OF STEEL, THE DARK KNIGHT, and talents of Conroy and Daly.

Funny sh*t but after all these years I'm still trying to place who Conroy was in Tour of Duty!

I've not heard Conroy go as dark as he gets in this video with the voice. Absolutely chilling and perfect.

I've never seen Conroy before, but the dude is a dead ringer for an older Christian Bale. Snyder should have cast him as the older Batman he wants. Imagining Affleck saying those lines with his preppy frat boyish voice makes me laugh. Especially after hearing Conroy deliver those lines with such character & authority.

Inspired Spot!!

If anything, just to hear Kevin Conroy crib those lines from The Dark Knight Returns..I thought it was a complete slap in the face to not get him to voice probably the best known and defining story about Batman. Those little snippets tell you all you need to know about how committed he would have been to that film. Instead, we get Peter Weller?...Great clip and Mr. Daly and Conroy and Son all look to be having boatloads of fun. If he had a higher profile, I think Conroy would have been inspired

If he had a higher profile, I think Conroy would have been inspired casting for Snyder's take. Oh well, enjoy the clip for what it is; two working actors having some fun and sending out a wink and an nod to their respective fans.

Slap in the face? What's wrong with Robocop? I thought he did a fine job. Plus they got Peter Weller because it was an older Batman. Just like they casted a younger voice for Batman Year One.

"You're the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now."

"What does that even mean?!"

So much win.

That was freakin' genius!

It's funny: I know Kevin Conroy isn't a household name like Ben Affleck, but he has the physicality for an older, worn-out Batman that Snyder is envisioning for the MoS sequel. And goodness knows he has the voice and the acting chops.
