Could these three be the final contenders for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire?

Just last week we ran the rumor that Robert Pattinson was being considered for a role in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, but either it wasn't true or he wasn't interested and the studio has subsequently narrowed its options down to strapping young stars Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch, and Garrett Hedlund.

The role in question is that of Finnick Odair, winner of the 65th Annual Hunger Games (Katniss and Peeta were victorious in the 74th), and while Lionsgate is also looking at whether it wants to put a newcomer in the role casting may be announced as early as this week.

Each of the men mentioned in conjunction with the role have their own qualities and stardom situation, with Kitsch most in the need of a sure-fire hit after JOHN CARTER and BATTLESHIP.  Hedlund is currently starring in ON THE ROAD but doesn't really have anything going after that, while Hammer is most poised for official breakout status when THE LONE RANGER releases next year despite the lackluster critical performance of MIRROR MIRROR.  I'd undoubtably pick Hammer for the part, but he also seems to be the least available of the three.

What say you?

Sultry Jennifer Lawrence in black and white

I say that any excuse to run more pictures of Jennifer Lawrence is a good excuse.

Extra Tidbit: Finnick Odair is from District 4 (responsible for fishing), and is described as "tall, athletic, with golden skin, bronze hair, and sea-green eyes."

Armie Hammer, but at least if Taylor Kitsch got chosen it would guarantee him a hit finally, but no he is not the best choice. At the same time i feel the role doesn't even require a big name because the character is that important to the story. Just please for the love of God keep that vampire douche away from this, we have enough Twilight comparisons as it is.

I'm not a fan of any of them but anything is better then Pattinson.

What typical, boring choices. They should think outside the box or hire an unknown. And they shouldn't limit their search to white people since Panem is supposed to be rife with racial mixing (not that the movies reflect that at all), and other races can have golden skin and bronze hair.

Plus, People need to stop trying to make Taylor Kitsch happen. He is just not a good actor.

Armie Hammer vs Garret Hedlund

they're both fine actors but I have to give the edge to Hammer for his work in J. Edgar. Taylor Kitsch just doesn't have the chops to be a film actor right now.

Hmm

I'd pick Garret Hedlund. Bland performance in Tron Legacy aside- he's a fine actor who delivered the goods in Death Sentence and Country Strong.

Stupid movie, but...

Shaky cam, teen movies aren't aimed for people my age. I wonder if Taylor Kitsch will ever get a chance to be in a blockbuster ever again? He has had a very bad year...

Hedlund is my favorite actor of the bunch, but I'm sure any of them would be fine. I don't really care much about the character, I'm more interested in the Johanna casting buzz.
