USA Today has our first look at Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott`s upcoming epic ROBIN HOOD and upon seeing the photo one thing is for certain--Russell Crowe is back. Many will argue that he never actually left, but after so many roles that featured long ponytails, big beards, and even bigger guts, it`s nice to see a leaner Crowe with his GLADIATOR-esque Caesar cut, holding a big, medieval weapon--in this case Robin`s iconic bow. There`s been a lot of mystery surrounding this film, but with the full cast set, and this awesome early image, things are definitely looking up for Robin and his merry men.

To answer your question Duece, Hollywood last attempt at this story was a shitty movie starring Kevin Costner. It needs the Ridley Scott treatment. Crowe is a great actor playing an iconic role. I just hope it's more Gladiator and less Kingdom of Heaven.

if i'm straying from any point, but does this robin hood costume look supremely weak to anybody else? ugg boots, fine denim and a bass co. shirt seem to be the providers for costume. i got hopes for this film regardless, but yikes on that

eh!
i've never been big on russell crowe. other than "a beautiful mind", he has just played the same character. i didnt really agree with his best actor nom for gladiator. its like every movie he's in, it's russell crowe playing the character of russell crowe

It's that instead of being a dude with marriage problems in American gangster, cia agent in body of lies, or a chubby long haired journalist in state of play, it's that he is back to being the Maximus/Bud White buff ass...

It'll be interesting to see Russell Crowe interpretation of the character coz the man's got talent I agree that he NEVER left.

That's a solid costume, and I'm looking forward to this movie; but I'm not liking the dark blue or black of the pants. They just don't match the earth-tones that are synonymous with Robin Hood. It's no biggie though, I just would've preferred green or brown pants.
