Crowe in Plame film?

Early last year, we told you about Warner Bros.' plan to adapt outed former CIA agent Valerie Plame's memoir “Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House” into a feature film under director Doug Liman and early this year, we told you about Nicole Kidman being on board to portray Plame.

Now, Liman is telling the "MTV Movies Blog" that he'd like none other than rugged man-beef Russell Crowe to play Plame's husband Joe Wilson. Wilson, as you may recall, was the impetus behind Plame's outing when the New York Times published an op-ed piece of his in which he accused the Bush administration of falsifying accounts of WMD's in Iraq. Further, in an effort to discredit him, Bush and co. released information that included Plame's status as a spy.

When asked why he'd like Crowe to portray Wilson, Liman had this to say: "I met with [Russell] for ‘Bourne Identity’ and I was terrified. The whole time I was in the room with him I was just scared of him. This is a scary dude! And Joe is kind of like that.” Which begs the question, Liman met with Crowe for THE BOURNE IDENTITY?? Say whaaa?

Extra Tidbit: Crowe plays in a band called "30 Odd Foot of Grunts".
