Cusack on Jury duty

It looks like the long-delayed production of THE RUNAWAY JURY may finally be ready to film.  The project has been around for years with stars like Will Smith, Gwyneth Paltrow, Edward Norton and Sean Connery all attached but never was able to get off the ground.  After director Mike Newell recently left to film MONA LISA SMILE with Julia Roberts, Gary Fleder (KISS THE GIRLS, DON'T SAY A WORD) was quickly brought in as a replacement.  Now the film has finally secured its stars and is one step closer to becoming a reality.  John Cusack and Naomi Watts (MULHOLLAND DRIVE) will star in the film about a lead juror pushed sway the verdict in a landmark lawsuit against a firearms manufacturer.  In the novel, by John Grisham, and previous versions of the script the trial was against big tobacco companies but was updated after life imitated art and dated the story.  JURY, should all things go according to plan, should begin filming this fall.
