Damon and Affleck reteaming for Yankees sex scandal drama?

After getting a first look deal with Warner Bros. recently, details are already coming to light about what Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's next project might be. Deadline is reporting that it’s THE TRADE, the true story of two Yankees player who swapped wives in the 1970s. Uh, what?

"Teammates Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich stunned the country when they disclosed in spring training 1973 that they were trading wives. Peterson had fallen in love with Susanne Kekich and his teammate fell in love with Marilyn Peterson. Fritz and Susanne remain a couple till this day, while Mike and Marilyn drifted apart."

God damn, past decades were WAY more fun than ours. The only sports scandals we have now are Tiger Woods having sex with a calendar’s worth of ugly chicks.

In any case, Affleck is reportedly wanting to direct and star, with Damon taking on the role of the player opposite whoever Affleck ends up being. The script has been an ongoing arduous process, with Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Dave Mandel finishing his draft after life-rights issues had been worked out, and it ended up on the 2009 Black List of Hollywood’s best unmade screenplays. But now, it seems that’s about to change.

Extra Tidbit: Any Yankees fans excited to see Boston-loving Damon and Affleck wearing pinstripes?
