Daniel Craig brings more action and mystery in new trailer for Spectre

07.22.2015

Spectre <a data-cke-saved-href=

Bond is back...again. The latest trailer for the 24th Bond flick, SPECTRE, has arrived and while it amps up the action, it's still shrouded in mystery. Not that I'm complaining as it's kind of nice to be excited for a film without knowing every beat that's in store (well, unless you read the leaked script, of course). Daniel Craig burns with intensity in the lead role of 007 yet again, this time flanked with a stellar cast including Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci, Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Stephanie Sigman.

Check it out:

Here's the synopsis:

A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

I know that some folks are a little divided on the last entry, SKYFALL, but I found it to be one of the most refined Bond films ever made (although I would've liked a better showdown between Bond and Javier Bardem's Silva in the end). Mendes is a fine catch for the franchise and although he says it'll be his last, I'm glad to have him for as long as we do. That goes double for Craig, who has proven to be a great fit for the role, giving a toughness to the character that hasn't been as prevalent with prior incarnations (although I'll always be fond of Brosnan, who may still be my favorite of them all). Mostly, I'm just happy to have another Bond flick on the way. Love 'em or not, they're always good for some popcorn entertainment in the least.

SPECTRE opens on November 6, 2015.

I didn't like Skyfall at all. This looks way better but what bothers me is that Bond looks totally depressed again. He is fucking James Bond. He should lighten up a little.

Agreed, very overrated for a Dark Knight , Home Alone ripoff.

Could not be more jacked up for a movie.

If this isn't the greatest entertainment spectacle in cinematic history, I'm going to be greatly disappointed. I may actually need to calm down a little.

That Waltz scene where he just looks at Bond is AMAZING

That one moment has my hype meter set exceptionally high. It was perfect. Best shot in a trailer in a long time. That one bit of dialogue spoken by Waltz, his look to Bond and Bond's reaction was just amazing. It was better than anything from the Batman v Superman trailer and Suicide Squad combined.

crazy_bull - no, the stare seemed awkward, it was just a stare, there was no REACTION. They might as well be about to kiss.

I think this works. It might be a rehash of something else, but with 24 films you have to figure there's going to be overlap. This still looks like the most fun Craig's been yet, maybe outside of Casino Royale. I think having someone other than Dench as M has reawakened the rogue in him. Add to that showing not one but two non-Moneypenny Bond girls, and Dave Bautista's hulking henchman, and the ingredients seem to be here. I'll concede revisiting Bond's past may seem like a cop-out at this

And finally, I really do want to know who Andrew Scott is playing now that they included him in the briefest of clips in the trailer. Is he the new Blofeld? Or is that just for the Sherlock fans?

Yeah, that was a bad trailer. The first trailer was way better and already had me sold on seeing the movie. I still plan to watch it because I'm sure it isn't going to disappoint. But this trailer looks like a Giorgio Armani cologne commercial.

Boring trailer but...

Not necessarily a boring film!

Anyway Marvel films and Bond films are like Soap Operas that I can't NOT watch. So even if it's crap I'll enjoy ripping it to shreds critically - but I have faith that it'll be a good Bond film!

While it does look good, it really felt like the same game over again. I agree with some of the comments below, and I really hope we get something different here. Rather then the cat and mouse chase.....

The first trailer was really good. This one is too silent and underwhelming.
But I still have high hopes for the movie. Looks good and I like Waltz as the villain.

I'm a die hard JB fan BUT....

I agree : this trailer is fucking boring and fucking deja vu !!!!!!
Soooooooooooo formulaic... The same shit over and over again...
JB needs a new direction : why not a JB movie with less action and more spying ???? Why not a mission where he doest not save the day and just steal some top secret documents ????

That's actually a good point, Ernesto, but I don't think it's what expected from James Bond movie. I expect James Bond to be a grand scale action movie. For some actual spying actions, I actually prefer Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Both the movie and Alec Guinness old series are perfect spying series, especially Alec Guinness series. You should check it out. I'm sure you'll like it a lot.

you are right, JB is supposed to be big scale action movies , but sometimes you can do more with less...
I saw Tinker... (the movie) and loved it cause it's old school spying.
I recommend to you : A most wanted man and The Russia House (with sean connery) : a breath of fresh air in a world of super spies who can do anything : save the world, have gadgets who can do anything, be lucky at poker, bang any woman etc etc...

Well if the formula has worked for over 60 years and Bond is one of the biggest international movie icons ever, why on earth would you change the formula? Bond = action, women, gadgets, heroism which in turn = every guys fantasy. Count me in every time. You want smaller scale try the ones mentioned as well as Breach with Chris Cooper, Spy Game with Brad Pitt, and the heavily underrated Body of Lies with Dicaprio and Crowe.

Zzzzzzz....

These Bond films are getting so BORING. Mendes doesn't know how to stage exciting/original action scenes, his classicism is better suited for romance dramas, not Bond films. Every time, it's the same shit...some murky meandering melodrama about Bond's past masquerading as character complexities. Throw in a bunch of banal compositions, mostly medium shots of people talking....some aerial shots of "exotic" locations, and women helping the hero look good. I'm over it.

classic parts of all the bond films

this looks like it'll have it all!
- evil mastermind villain (blofeld?)
- odd job-esque henchman
- ski sequence
- Q doing a rundown of a tricked out car
- Bond getting chewed out in M's office
- day of the dead scene reminiscent of live and let die
hopefully it ends in some kind of underground bunker.
